Deebot X1 OMNI vs. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra FaceOff

In this main segment of this comparison review, check out how the two stack up against each other. We have based the discussion on the essential factors to consider when selecting a robot vacuum with a mop. So, without further ado, let's get into it.
Design Dimensions and Aesthetics
round-shaped

The Deebot X1 OMNI is a round-shaped robot vacuum with a low-profile design. It can go under low-profile furniture such as beds, coffee tables, kickstands, sofas, you name it.

It can also pass between tight spaces, including chair legs. The dimensions are 14.25 inches in width and 4.1 inches in height. The weight is 9.5lbs.

Regarding aesthetics, it is one of the most appealing robot vacuums we have come across, courtesy of its designer, the renowned Jacob Jensen design studio. It has been finished in silver and black.

round-shaped

Like the OMNI, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is also a round-shaped robot cleaner boasting a low-profile design to allow it to go under low-clearance furniture and pass between tight spaces unrestricted.

The width is 13.89 inches and stands at 3.79 inches. As for the aesthetics, Roborock boasts a sleek and stylish design and is finished in black, with red accents.

As far as design, dimensions, and aesthetics are concerned, it is a close call as both models are round-shaped and very appealing to the eye. However, Roborock is a better option if you have low-clearance furniture, as it is thinner and, moreso, it can pass between tighter spaces.

Cleaning Orientation
vacuum and mop

As mentioned earlier, the X1 OMNI is a 2-in-1 robot cleaner with a vacuuming and mopping function, so you won’t have to spend more on a separate mop.

One unique addition is that it can eliminate bacteria on the mopping pad and prevent the buildup of bad odor as it dries the pads using heat.

Regarding its specialization, it can handle all hard floors, talk of hardwood, tile, linoleum, ceramic, and so on. The OMNI can also handle all carpets types satisfactorily, from low pile carpets to high pile. It is also suitable for homes with pets as it is effective in pet hair pickup and can wipe out pet urine stains and paw marks.

vacuum and mop

Roborock, too, is a 2-in-1 robot cleaner that can vacuum and mop hard floors. As for specialization, this cleaner is suitable for all hard floors, including hardwood, tile, vinyl, laminate, marble, you name it.

It also boasts raw cleaning power to satisfactorily vacuum all carpets, from low-pile carpets to high-pile and area rugs. Besides hard floor and carpet cleaning, it is excellent for pet hair and kitty litter pickup.

Also, it can mop stubborn urine stains and paw marks, leaving your floors sparkling clean.

Both Deebot X1 OMNI and Roborock are reliable 2-in-1 cleaners. They offer excellent vacuuming and mopping. They can handle all surfaces, be they hard floors or carpets, and take care of pet messes.

However, Deebot has taken the game a notch higher as it can eliminate bacteria and freshen the atmosphere by ensuring the pads are dried after mopping. This makes it the winner in this round.

Suction Power
5000pa

While the rest of the robot vacuum brands are overwhelmed when it comes to suction power, Deebot has upped its game by engineering the OMNI X1 with a powerful 25,000RPM motor that puts up a staggering 5000pa making it one of the most powerful robot vacuums we have come across.

To customize cleaning depending on the mess, the suction is adjustable so you can save power and manage operation noise. There are four suction levels; Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max+. Quiet mode is for light vacuuming, while Standard is for normal day vacuuming.

If you want more power to lift heavier debris and vacuum carpets, switch to Max or Max+.

5100pa

Roborock is also exceptional when it comes to suction power. It also boasts a robust motor that delivers a whopping 5,100pa when firing on all cylinders.

Like Deebot, the motor is a variable speed motor, meaning you can adjust suction levels depending on your vacuuming needs and, moreso, manage operation noise and battery consumption. The S7 MaxV Ultra has 5 suction levels; Quiet, Balanced, Turbo, Max, and Max+.

The low suction levels are for light vacuuming needs, while the higher levels are ideal when vacuuming carpets and other heavy debris.

Here, it's a close call as both models deliver super strong suction. The difference in suction is negligible, but ultimately, you'd want to go for the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra as it has a slight edge in terms of suction yield and, moreso, has 5 suction levels compared to Deebot's 4.

Mopping Performance
Yes

The X1 OMNI comes with a mopping function. You can opt to go for dry or wet mopping. It has an 80ml electric water tank that allows for 3 water dispensation levels (Low, Medium, or High).

Attention

Unfortunately, it comes with the less advanced ECOVACS’ OZMO TURBO 2.0 Rotary Pressure Mopping System. It includes two circular mopping pads that complete up to 180 rotations per minute, agitating stuck-on stains and grime, and has a downward pressure of up to 6N for maximum contact with the hard floor. OZMO TURBO 2.0 does a great job but can’t match the brand’s new technology, OZMO TURBO 3.0.

All the same, it offers satisfactory mopping. As one of the leading robot mops on the market, the X1 OMNI comes with the OMNI Station that houses two 4L water tanks, one for clean water and another for dirty water. This is not your typical robot mop as it empties the onboard 80ml water tank and refills it automatically for hands-free mopping. Interestingly, it can also wash the mopping pads and dry them preventing bad odor and mold buildup. Also worth mentioning is the carpet detection function that detects carpeted areas to avoid wetting them. There’s also a No-Mop Zones feature which you can set to back the carpet detection system.

Yes

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is also a reliable robot mop with both wet and dry mopping modes. It leverage’s Roborock’s innovative Sonic Mopping Technology that tackles those sticky messes, stains, and grime.

The mechanism beats the mopping pad up to 3000 times per minute, so you can be sure that nothing will be left behind. For the record, there are 3 mopping levels depending on the mess at hand; Light, Balanced, and Deep. The S7 MaxV is equipped with a 200ml onboard electric water tank alongside two tanks on the docking station. One is a clean water tank with a 3L capacity, and the other is a dirty water tank with a 2.5L capacity.

Important

Just like Deebot, Roborock can empty the dirty water tank and refill it with clean water automatically for hands-free mopping. Your only task is filling the clean water tank and emptying the dirty water tank.

This robot cleaner also can clean the mopping pad automatically, thus enhancing convenience. To avoid wetting carpets, the S7 MaxV Ultra has Ultra Sonic Carpet Detection technology that detects carpets and an auto-lifting VibraRise mop pad that raises the mop pad immediately after carpets are detected so you won’t have to worry about a wet carpet. You can also set No Mop Zones.

In this round, it is hard to call a winner. In terms of mopping performance, Roborock wins the battle as Sonic Mopping Technology works more effectively than Deebot's OZMO TURBO 2.0 Rotary Pressure Mopping System.

Roborock also allows you to set mopping modes. However, when it comes to water tanks, the Deebot X1 comes with much larger clean and dirty water tanks, which reduces the frequency of refilling them. All said and done, I'd go for Roborock.

Navigation
AIVI™️ 3D

The Deebot X1 OMNI has advanced navigation based on a VSLAM algorithm.

The system is based on AIVI™️ 3D technology and a 960p astrophotography-grade RGB camera. AIVI 3D technology leverages a set of obstacle detection sensors to prevent it from hitting obstacles.

It is assisted by a real-time camera that can identify obstacles for precise navigation. In addition, there’s TrueDetect 3D 2.0 and AIVI Object Recognition Strategic Cleaning, which further enhance the navigation of the robot to avoid obstacles, even small obstacles, for example, shoes, headphones, and so on.

Important

In our test, we observed that this navigation is accurate as it didn’t hit any obstacles in an average traffic room. However, it crashed into some objects in high-traffic rooms and lowly-lit areas but still got the job done.

LiDAR

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also has a reliable navigation system built around a VSLAM algorithm.

Known as Precision LiDAR Navigation, it works alongside ReactiveAI 2.0 Obstacle Avoidance for precise navigation. A set of obstacle detection and cliff avoidance sensors do the magic.

Important

Besides, a real-time RGB camera deploys AI to recognize and avoid hitting obstacles. ReactiveAI 2.0, on the other hand, combines structured light 3D scanning to project patterns on a scene and then uses pattern deformation to recognize obstacles with human-like accuracy.

In our tests, it performed exceptionally, avoiding even the small obstacles in lowly-lit spots.

But it is not invincible in high-traffic areas as it hit some obstacles too, but less frequently.

It's hard to call a winner in this round as both robot vacuums use a VSLAM navigation system with sensors and a camera. They also leverage AI to enhance accuracy and obstacle detection.

Mapping
Yes, 3 Maps

The OMNI X1 is a smart robot vacuum that can create hyper-accurate maps of your home for efficient and entire-level cleaning.

For the record, the OMNI X1 can save up to 3 maps making it suitable for homes with more than one level.

Important

The mapping system, TrueMapping 2.0, is the latest technology from the Chinese brand and blends with AIVI™️ 3D technology, enabling the robot to create maps 10 times faster and doubles its vision. In the end, the robot cleans 25% faster.

The OMNI is also well endowed in terms of targeted cleaning courtesy of high-tech Horizon GAI chips that create 3D maps of your home.

Some of the targeted cleaning features this robot boasts include Room Sequence Cleaning, which lets you decide which rooms to clean first. There are also No-Go Zones and No-Mop Zones that are basically digital barriers.

Yes, 4 Maps

The S7 MaxV Ultra is also a smart robot vacuum. It creates hyper-accurate 3D maps of your home and can save up to 4 maps. The robot cleans in a systematic pattern, ensuring that no spot is missed.

The navigation is based on a Precision LiDAR system that makes targeted cleaning possible. The robot is intelligent enough to differentiate rooms.

You can tell it to clean the bedroom or kitchen only, and it will do so.

Besides, you can select cleaning schedules for each area. For example, you can program it to clean the kitchen every 8:00 am, the bedroom at 6:00 pm, and the dog feeding area after your routine dog feeding schedule. Other features include No Go Zones, Invisible Walls, and No-Mop Zones.

As far as mapping is concerned, the two robots performed well in our tests. They made sure the entire house was cleaned with no missed spots.

However, the difference comes in room cleaning schedules where the Roborock beats Deebot, as the latter doesn't have this feature. More so, the Roborock can save up to 4 maps while Deebot can save 3 maps. But one thing we liked about Deebot is the fast and precise mapping, so it’s the winner.

Filtration System
3-stage filtration system

The OMNI X1 doesn’t just vacuum and mop. It also keeps the atmosphere fresh courtesy of a 3-stage filtration system.

The filters capture 99% of particulates in the atmosphere that can trigger allergies or cause foul odors, for example, dust, pollen, and pet-related dander.

While the filters are not true-HEPA grade filters, they go a long way in ensuring you have a pleasant ambiance courtesy of the 3-layer filtration that ensures no elements escape.

Washable E11-rated

The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also has a filtration system that captures allergens, dust, dust mite, and other particulates in the atmosphere so you can enjoy fresh ambiance.

Here again, there are no true-HEPA grade filters. Instead, Roborock used E11-rated filers which still do a good job as far as air purification is concerned.

One advantage of these filters is that they are washable, cutting down maintenance costs.

It's a close call here, as both models can capture allergens and other elements from the atmosphere. However, Deebot has the edge obviously because its filtration system is 3-layered.

Brush System
Bristle spiral brush

The X1 OMNI has two brushes; a primary brush and a secondary brush. The primary brush bears a new design, different from its predecessors.

It is a bristle spiral rush that is great for agitation and lifting dirt. The shortcoming is that it can easily get tangled when picking up long hairs.

Besides the primary brush, there are two spinning side brushes designed to reach the deep corners and wall edges where the main brush can’t reach.

The inclusion of two spinning side brushes is such a nice idea for thorough sweeping. Most robot vacuums come with just a single side brush.

Multidirectional floating brush

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also comes with two brush systems. First is the primary brush, a floating multidirectional brushroll for agitation and dirt pickup.

It does an excellent job but gets overwhelmed when dealing with those long hairs, just like Deebot.

But when it comes to dirt pickup, it’s superb. The main brush is complemented by a spinning side brush that is designed to sweep the wall edges and reach the deep corners where the main brush can’t reach.

In this round, it's hard to call a winner as both models come with a robust brushroll that agitates and lifts dirt effectively though they tend to get jammed when dealing with long hairs. However, Deebot sounds like a great choice as it comes with a pair of spinning side brushes, while Roborock comes with just one.

Bin System
0.5L

Deebot X1 OMNI comes with a large 0.5L onboard bin. While more than this may be needed for a busy home as it requires frequent emptying, we are glad the OMINI is a self-emptying robot vacuum. The OMNI station houses the self-emptying mechanism powered by powerful 21kpa suction.

It takes just 10 seconds to have the onboard bin emptied into the disposable bag.

The disposable bag has a 3L capacity which can go for 60 days, so during those 60 days, you don’t have to worry about bin emptying.

After the bag is full, you will have to remove it manually and do away with it before putting a new bag into the OMNI station.

0.4L

The Roborock S7 MaxV comes with a 0.4L onboard bin which can’t hold much dirt if you have a busy household.

Plus, dirt in the onboard bin can cause a foul odor. Luckily, the S7 MaxV is also a self-emptying robot cleaner.

The onboard bin is automatically emptied after each cleaning session. In the dock, there is a 2.5lL bin that takes up to 7 weeks to get filled, so in those 7 weeks, you can forget the troubles of emptying the bin manually.

Once the disposable bag is full, you must remove and dispose before equipping the dock with a new bag.

Here again, it's hard to call a winner. Even though Roborock comes with a smaller onboard bin, that shouldn't be an issue, as the empty dock does the heavy lifting. However, when assessing the disposable bag, Deebot is the winner as its bag can hold more dirt.

Battery and Runtime
5200mAh

The X1 OMNI is among the best robot vacuums in terms of autonomy.

Important

It is equipped with a lithium-ion battery whose 5200mAh capacity enables it to run for a cool 180 minutes in low-power mode.

Obviously, when working in high power modes, the runtime dips but still offers lengthy runtime compared to other top brands, including Roombas.

Regarding power management, the OMNI is intelligent enough to know when it’s time to get some juice.

It will dock and recharge automatically and resume cleaning from where it left off. Unfortunately, it takes up to 6.5 hours to recharge fully.

5200mAh
Important

The S7 MaxV Ultra is also a great deal in terms of autonomy as it also packs a 5200mAh lithium-ion battery that offers up to 180 minutes of runtime when fully charged.

It is also an intelligent cleaner that knows when the battery is down. It will dock and recharge before resuming cleaning automatically.

The recharge time is 4 hours courtesy of a Quick Charge feature that boosts charging speed by 30%.

As fast a battery and power management are concerned, it is a close call as they both pack 5200mAh lithium-ion batteries and offer up to 180 minutes of runtime. However, the Quick Charge function of the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra makes the difference. It is the best bang for the buck if you don't want a long recharge time.

Smart Features
App operation, Alexa, YIKO

You can set cleaning schedules, set cleaning modes, set wash modes, adjust suction, manually control the robot, set cleaning preferences, draw boundaries and zones that don’t require mopping, and so on.

The OMNI is also voice assistant capable as it can sync with Alexa, so you can tell Alexa which room you want the robot to clean, and it will handle the rest.

Important

The S7 MaxV Ultra can also double up as a surveillance system courtesy of the real-time camera. Just send it to a specific spot in your home while you are away and watch what is happening.

Both Deebot and Roborock are innovative as far as smart features and automation are concerned. They both work with mobile apps and voice assistants. They can also be used for remote surveillance. However, Deebot's inbuilt voice control gives it the edge in this round.

Warranty and Aftersales
1 Year

Deebot is a trusted brand that has won consumers’ confidence courtesy of its 1-year warranty policy.

The X1 OMNI comes with a 1-year warranty, so it’s covered in case of a defect within 1 year of purchase.

As for aftersales, a reliable team of support agents is ready to help where necessary. Last, you can find all the supplies you need, from original Deebot supplies to generic ones. They are all affordable except for some components, for example, tanks, docking stations, etc.
