Deebot T20 vs X1 OMNI, which is the best ECOVACS vacuum? If you are in this dilemma, keep it right here. We have compared all the essential features of the two robot vacuums and passed our verdict on which one is the best and why.

There’s no doubt ECOVACS is one of the best robot vacuum brands. The company is known for over a dozen different models, with the Deebot T20 and X1 OMNI as the best-selling models today. The two share a lot. They are both 2-in-1 vacuum cleaners and come with the OMNI Station, which empties the bin, refills and empties water tanks, and even self-cleans the system. However, there are differences that you should know to make the right purchase decision.

Important

The main difference between ECOVACS Deebot T20 and X1 OMNI is the vacuuming performance, mopping performance, and navigation system. The Deebot T20 offers better vacuuming and mopping courtesy of higher suction and hot water washing but lacks a camera. On the other hand, the X1 OMNI has a camera for better navigation but has lower suction and lacks hot water washing.

For more details on how they compare, read along.

ECOVACS Deebot T20 vs. X1 OMNI Face-to-Face Comparison Review

To the day's main business, how does Deebot T20 compare to X1 OMNI in terms of features? To make sure you get the best deal, we have compared the two based on the crucial aspects considered when choosing robot vacuums. Without wasting time, let's get started.
1. Design, Dimensions, and Aesthetics
round-shaped

The Deebot T20 is a round-shaped robot vacuum with a low-profile design. The design allows it to go under low-profile house fittings, including sofas and beds, and pass between tight spaces.

The robot’s dimensions alone are 14.25×14.25×4.07 inches, while the weight is 9.7 lbs. The OMNI Station is pretty sleek and doesn’t take up much space. The dimensions are 16.9×17.6×22.78 inches, and the weight is 30.86 lbs.

Both units are appealing aesthetically, courtesy of the Jacob Jensen design studio. For the record, the Deebot T20 is available in a single color; white.

round-shaped

The Deebot X1 OMNI is also round-shaped like the T20 and maintains the same low-profile design, so it can go under most low-profile furniture and pass between tight spaces.

The dimensions of the robot and weight are 14.25×14.25×4.07 inches and 9.7 lbs. respectively. The OMNI station is the same as that of the T20, and so are the dimensions and weight; 16.9×17.6×22.78 inches and 30.86 lbs, respectively. Jacob Jensen also designed the X1 OMNI, so you can be sure it’s a masterpiece.

The only difference between the T20 and X1 OMNI in terms of design, dimensions, and aesthetics is the finish. The X1 is black and silver, while the OMNI Station is all black.

2. Cleaning Orientation
vacuum and mop

The Deebot T20 is such a versatile robot cleaner. It has been designed to offer 2-in-1 cleaning. While it is primarily a robot vacuum, it can also mop hard floors.

Regarding specialization, the T20 has been designed to vacuum and mop all hard floors, including tile, linoleum, hardwood, marble, laminate, etc.

Besides hard floors, you can rely on this cleaner to deep vacuum carpets, be it low pile carpets, medium pile, high pile, area rugs, or flokati. The Deebot T20 is among the best robot vacuums for pet hair, as it effectively picks up pet hair.

Besides, it can wipe out pet messes such as urine stains and paw marks. There are 4 cleaning modes: Vacuum, Mopping, Vacuum+mop mode, and Vacuum first before mopping.

vacuum and mop

Nothing much is different between the Deebot T20 vs. X1 OMNI in terms of cleaning orientation. The X1 is also a 2-in-1 robot vacuum meaning it can also vacuum and mop like the T20. However, the T20 offers slightly better vacuuming, as we will see in the vacuuming tests.

Regarding specialization, the X1 OMNI is suitable for all hard floors, from hardwood and tile to linoleum and marble.

You can also rely on the X1 as it is one of the best robot vacuums for carpets we have tested. It is ideal for low-pile to high-pile carpets and area rugs and flokati.

The X1 is also a robot vacuum for pet hair and other messes and has 4 cleaning modes: Vacuum, Mopping, Vacuum+mop mode, and Vacuum first before mopping.

It is hard to call a winner here, as both Deebot vacuums have the same cleaning orientation. They are vacuum and mop combos and can handle hard floors, carpets, and pet hair. So, the round ends in a draw.

3. Vacuuming Performance
6,000Pa

The Deebot T20 uses a 3-stage cleaning system, with the last stage as the most critical as it is where dirt is suctioned into the bin.

Under the hood, ECOVACS T20 packs a powerful multispeed 25,000RPM motor that can deliver a whopping 6,000Pa when firing on all cylinders. As mentioned earlier, this is a multispeed motor with 4 suction levels: Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max+.

Quiet mopping is for light touchups, while Standard is for general cleaning. Switch to Max and Max+ when vacuuming stubborn dirt and carpets.

5,000Pa

One of the differences between the Deebot T20 and X1 OMNI is the suction power. While the T20 puts up 6,000Pa, maximum suction, the X1 OMNI offers a maximum of 5,000Pa which is still commendable.

The X1 is still a multispeed robot vacuum with 4 suction levels: Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max+.

Switch to lower power modes for normal cleaning and high power when dealing with large debris and carpets.

4. Mopping Performance
OZMO™ Turbo 2.0

As mentioned earlier, the T20 is a 2-in-1 robot cleaner that vacuums and mops. It relies on the revolutionary Deebot OZMO Turbo 2.0 Mopping System. The system consists of an 80ml onboard water tank that dispenses water in 3 levels; Low, Medium, or High.

One great feature we like is the heating system that heats water to 131℉ to dissolve oils and sticky messes and kill germs. Now that it has the OMNI Station, water emptying and refilling is done autonomously without your intervention. We have a 4L clean water tank on the station and a 4L dirty water tank.

Onto the actual scrubbing, the T20 is equipped with an OZMO Turbo pressurized spinning mop system that consists of 2 circular microfibers that agitate embedded dirt and eliminate stains.

Interestingly, the mops are self-washing and self-drying as well. To prevent the robot from wetting carpets, there’s a carpet detection system and Automatic Mop Lifting that raises the mopping head immediately after carpets are detected.

OZMO™ Turbo 2.0

The Deebot X1 OMNI is also a robot vacuum and mop combo. It also deploys the revolutionary and innovative Deebot OZMO Turbo 2.0 Mopping System like the T20.

To start, X1 OMNI has an 80ml electric water tank that sounds small, but the good thing is it can refill the onboard tank automatically and empty it. We have a 4L clean water tank on the station and a 4L dirty water tank. But there’s a catch.

The X1 OMNI doesn’t offer hot water washing. But the OZMO Turbo pressurized spinning mop system with two circular microfibers has been maintained. The mops do a great job eliminating all kinds of wet messes and stains.

The X1 OMNI will also auto-clean the mopping pads and dry them to prevent odor buildup. Here comes another difference. The X1 comes with Carpet Detection but doesn’t have Automatic Mop Lifting.

Here again, it is hard to call a winner as both models have a mopping function. But on a closer look, the T20 is a better choice as it offers better cleaning courtesy of hot water washing, which dissolves sticky messes such as oils and kills germs and bacteria. The T20 also features Automatic Mop Lifting, guaranteeing your carpets won't get wet. We did thorough mopping tests, and the T20 was indeed the better option, especially when dealing with sticky messes.

5. Navigation
TrueDetect 3D 3.0

Regarding navigation, the T20 has two large wheels with a 20mm climbing threshold.

Under the hood, it boasts TrueDetect 3D 3.0 Navigation that relies on sensors for obstacle avoidance and preventing the robot from toppling over the stairs.

The T20 can detect all kinds of obstacles, from slippers and toys to cables and socks.

TrueDetect 3D 2.0

X1 OMNI also has two large wheels with a 20mm climbing threshold.

It uses AIVI™️ 3D technology and a 960p astrophotography-grade RGB camera for navigation and obstacle avoidance. The sensors and camera mean better obstacle recognition.

Besides, the X1 OMNI is the best for high-traffic rooms. It is equipped with TrueDetect 3D 2.0 and AIVI Object Recognition Strategic Cleaning.

In terms of navigation, we like the X1 OMNI. It navigated more accurately courtesy of the AIVI™️ 3D technology and a 960p astrophotography-grade RGB camera.

6. Mapping
TrueMapping 2.0

The Deebot T20 is a smart mapping robot vacuum. The mapping system, dubbed TrueMapping 2.0, can create 2 hyper-accurate fixed maps and 1 new temporary map.

It creates maps 10 times faster than your ordinary robot vacuum and doubles visibility, making cleaning 25% faster. There are also Horizon GAI chips that create 3D maps of your home.

Other features include Custom Cleaning, Room Sequence Cleaning, No-Go Zones, No-Mop Zones, etc.

Yes, 3 Maps

The Deebot X1 OMNI has the same specs as the T20 in terms of mapping., It also comes with TrueMapping 2.0, which creates hyper-accurate maps of your home. This includes 3D maps courtesy of Horizon GAI chips.

Like the T20, the X1 OMNI can save 3 maps; 2 permanent maps and 1 temporary map. Other features include Room Sequence Cleaning, Custom Cleaning, No-Go Zones, and No-Mop Zones.

This round has no winner as the two Deebot robot vacuum combos use TrueMapping 2.0 Technology and have the same specifications.

7. Filtration System
E11

The Deebot T20 goes beyond vacuuming and mopping. It also purifies the air. It has an E11-rated high-efficiency filter that captures 99% of allergens, including pollen and dust mites.

Just to mention, it is not a true HEPA filter as it filters down to 0.6 microns. Remember, true-HEPA filters capture down to 0.3 microns. But the good thing is that the T20’s filter is washable.

E11

The Deebot OMNI X1 is the same as the T20 when it comes to filtration.

It also comes with an E11-rated high-efficiency filter that captures 99% of allergens and other elements that cause bad odor and filters down to 0.6 microns. The X1 OMNI filter is washable.

There is no winner here, as the Deebot T20 and OMNI X1 have the same filtration system with a washable E11-rated high-efficiency filter.

8. Bin System
Electric

The Deebot T20 comes with a large 0.3L onboard bin. Interestingly, it is an automatic self-emptying robot vacuum now that it comes with the OMNI Station.

Under the hood,m the OMNI Station holds a dust bag whose 3L capacity can hold 60 days of dirt. Please note only 1 dust bag is included in the package.

Electric

The Deebot X1 OMNI is quite similar to the T20 in that it is also an automatic self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner.

It also comes with the OMNI Station, which can hold a 3L dust bag. However, the onboard bin has a 0.4L capacity.

It is hard to call a winner as both vacuum cleaners have an automatic self-emptying function. However, we favor the Deebot X1 OMNI because it has a larger 0.4L bin than the T20's 0.3L onboard bin.

9. Brush System
Upgraded tangle-free rubber

The Deebot T20 has two brushes; a floating main brush and a spinning side brush. The main brush is an upgraded tangle-free rubber brush that is gentle on floors and tough on embedded dirt.

It also picks up pet hair on hard floors and carpets with minimal tangling, even when dealing with those long dog hairs.

The spinning side brush, on the other hand, reaches the wall edges and deep corners where the floating main brush can’t reach.

Upgraded tangle-free rubber

Deebot OMNI X1 also has two brush systems. First is the floating main brush, which is used in the T20.

The upgraded all-rubber design makes the X1 gentle on floors and tough on stains. It picks up fine and large debris, including long dog hair, without tangling.

The secondary brush is a spinning side brush for wall edges and corners.

Here again, we have no winner, as the T20 and X1 come with the same brush system. An upgraded tangle-free rubber brush and a spinning side brush.

10. Battery and Runtime
5,200mAh/170min

The Deebot T20 is equipped with a 5,200mAh lithium-ion battery. When sweeping, it offers up to 260 minutes of runtime on hard floors in Silent Mode and 190 in Standard Mode.

On the other hand, when sweeping and mopping, the runtime is 220 minutes in Silent Mode and 170 in Standard Mode. The Deebot T20 is one of the latest innovations from the Chinese brand.

It will recharge automatically when the power goes down and resume cleaning. Unfortunately, the recharge time is long, 6.5 hours on average, if the battery level drops to 0%.

5,200mAh/170min

There is no difference between Deebot T20 and X1 OMNI as far as battery and runtime are concerned. The X1 OMNI is also equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a 5,200mAh capacity.

When sweeping hard floors, the runtime is 260 minutes in Silent Mode and 190 minutes in Standard mode. When vacuuming and mopping, the runtime is 220 minutes and 170 minutes in Silent and Standard Mode, respectively.

It also comes with auto-recharge and resume features, but recharge time is still long, 6.5 hours when the battery is empty.

Here, it is evident that the round ends in a tie. Both vacuum cleaners have the same 5200mAh battery that offers the same runtime. Besides, they have the same power management features, i.e., auto recharge and auto-resume functions.

11. Automation and Smart Features
App, Alexa, YIKO

The Deebot T20 comes with plenty of automation and smart features. To start, there are 4 cleaning modes; Auto, Custom, Area, and HOME.

You can also schedule cleaning sessions for the entire week. The T20 is compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi for mobile app operation via the ECOVACS HOME App.

Besides mobile app operation, you can sync the T20 with Alexa and Google Assistant alongside YIKO Voice Assistant.

App, Alexa, YIKO

The Deebot X1 OMNI is also a great deal when it comes to automation and smart features. However, it comes with 3 cleaning modes; Auto, Custom, and Area.

It also has the Schedule function, so you can program it to clean throughout the week. The X1 is also a smart robot vacuum with 2.4GHz compatibility for mobile app operation and Alexa, Google Assistant, and YIKO syncing.

Interestingly, there’s also Live Monitoring courtesy of the front-facing real-time camera.

Regarding automation and smart features, the Deebot X1 OMNI is the ultimate choice courtesy of Live Monitoring, which the T20 lacks.

12. Warranty and Aftersales
12 months

ECOVACS is known for its durable products. In addition to the T20’s solid and tested design, the Chinese brand accompanies it with a generous 12 months warranty, so in case you encounter a problem, you can contact your retailer or ECOVACS.

They should get you sorted as long as the warranty is valid. Support is available via live chat, and besides, you can look for solutions on the ECOVACS Help Center and blog with guides, troubleshooting guides, and tutorials.

Last, replacement parts and supplies such as filters, brushes, mopping pads, and cleaning formulas are readily available on Amazon, both genuine and generic.

12 months

The X1 OMNI is not different from the Deebot T20 in terms of warranty and aftersales.

With the X1 OMNI, you also get a 12 months warranty, so you are covered if your robot fails within the first year of purchase. But of course, you must follow the warranty terms and conditions.

Support, too, is available via live chat and other resources, so you shouldn’t get stuck trying to connect to WiFi or set a cleaning schedule. The Deebot X1 OMNI parts and supplies are also available at affordable prices.

There is no winner here, considering both Deebots come with a 12 months warranty, support is available, and so are parts and supplies.

13. What's in the Box?

The Amazon ECOVACS Deebot T20 package comes with the following:

  • Deebot T20 robot vacuum
  • Deebot OMNI station
  • Mopping pads (1 Set)
  • Auto-seal dust bag (1)
  • Side brushes (1 Set)

On the other hand, the Deebot X1 OMNI sold on Amazon comes with the following:

  • Deebot OMNI station
  • Mopping pads(2 Sets)
  • Auto-seal dust bags (2)
  • Side brushes (1 Set)

It is hard to call a winner here as both models are well equipped, especially with the Deebot OMNI Station, which offers an almost hands-free cleaning experience. However, at the end of the day, we say the winner is the X1 OMNI, as it comes with an extra set of mopping pads and an extra dust bag for your next replacement.

Wrapping Up

That’s the end of this Deebot T20 vs. X1 OMNI comparison review. So, what’s the best choice? Well, both cleaners are excellent, but there is a winner at the end of the day. We like the Deebot T20 because of its better cleaning performance.
