Deebot X2 OMNI has an ultra-new square shape (dimensions are 320*353*95) to reach all corners and leave the floor cleaner than ever; it covers 99.77% of the floor during cleaning.

The cleaner has a super ultra-thin profile – 95 mm, making it the slimmest robot for cleaning underneath furniture; it also has the narrowest body of 32 cm to navigate complex spaces.

The lid has a power button with three arrows highlighted in blue LED while the robot is in operation. The robot is relatively compact and has a bumper with sensors (including cliff sensors) to avoid collisions and furniture damage. It comes in two colors – grey and white.

Deebot X1 OMNI is a top round-shaped robot cleaner 365 mm in diameter and 103.5 mm in height (dimensions are 362*362*103.5mm).

Jacob Jensen’s remarkable design makes this model extraordinary, but it has raised AIVI 3D sensors on the top that do not allow tight spaces between low-profile furniture and the floor.

In front, it has a protective black plastic bumper with cliff sensors. It comes in black and white colors.

The new square shape of the Deebot X2 OMNI makes this model the winner in this competition, as it can cover the floor better and move better around your furniture than the round-shaped Deebot X1. In addition, X2's slim, compact design helps to clean under low-profile furniture, and in tight corners, X1 is wider and has more height.

The X2 OMNI is a combo robotic cleaner for mop and vacuum. It has driving wheels from new materials to drive with excellent movements during vacuuming, mopping, or combo modes.

It can ever cross the barriers with 22 mm height. It has four cleaning modes: vacuum only, mop only, simultaneously vacuum and mop, or vacuum first before mop.

There are three water flow levels for mopping – low, medium, and high. There are four levels for suction: quiet, standard, max, and supermax.

Mopping Performance
OZMO Turbo 2.0

The X2 OMNI has an OZMO Turbo 2.0 for mopping with rotated pads (180 rpm/min) located close to the edge of the robot of all stubborn stains.

It has 20 cm roller brushers to mop the floor from edge to edge. The mops automatically lift for 15 mm (the highest in the industry) to avoid carpet mopping.

It automatically increases suction power on carpets as well. The robot has a 180 ml built-in water container that is automatically refilled in the OMNI station.

OZMO Turbo 2.0

The X1 OMNI is equipped with dual mopping pads (20 cm) using OZMO Turbo 2.0 technology. Mops has a 180 r/min rotation speed and up to 6N download pressure.

Mopping pads have three layers for long-term usage and a shining floor. The auto-refill built-in water tank has a capacity of 80 ml.

This robot does not have auto mop lifting; it automatically avoids carpets during cleaning. Mopping pads are cleaned at OMNI station during mopping at intervals of 10, 15, or 25 minutes (applicable for X2).

The robot that can vacuum carpets and mop hard floors in one cycle is better, so the X2 is better than the X1. Its auto moping lifting mopping pads and a larger built-in water tank make the X2 the winner in this round of comparison Deebot X2 vs. X1.

OMNI station
All in one

The X2 Omni station is the all-in-one station (dimensions ‎394 x 527.5 x 443.73mm) that combines numerous activities: auto-empty of dust from the robot’s dustbin in 10 seconds into the 3L dust bag, 55oC (131oF) hot water mopping pads washing and auto drying of mop cloth, tank, and the base station in 2 hours afterward.

All features are required for a self-maintained solution, including auto-water refill. It has two tanks – a clean water tank (4L) and a waste water tank (3.5L).

The clean water capacity of the built-in tank is enough to clean 400 sqm. The OMNI station has control buttons to start, pause, and resume the cleaning if you press it shortly; for a long press (3 seconds), the cleaning tank will automatically add water to the robot’s tank and/or drain dirty water.

When the dustbin in the station is almost full (it holds the dust for up to 90 days), you will receive a notification from the app to replace the disposable dust bag.

All in one

The X1 OMNI station (station 430x448x578mm) is bigger in size but also has similar features as the X1 OMNI station. It is the self-emptying system for dust and dirt in 10 seconds, cold water cleaning, and hot air drying of mopping pads in two hours, making the maintenance process automatic.

The robot periodically returns to the OMNI station for cleaning mopping pads. The easy disposable dust bag (3L) has the capacity to hold dust for 75 days. The station has two water tanks – for clean water (4L) and dirty water (4L).

The robot’s built-in water tank is refilled automatically. The station is equipped with an indicator of low water. The built-in water tank capacity is enough to clean 360 sqm.

The station panel has three buttons – the station self-cleaning button when the robot is out of the station, the start/pause button for the robot, and the recall and exit button for the robot from the station.

The X1 OMNI station is bigger and cleans mopping pads with cold water, while the X2 is smaller and cleans with hot water mopping pads. Moreover, X1 can hold dust only for 75 days, while X2 for 90 days. But the water tank in X2 is relatively smaller than in X1. To summarize, the X2 OMNI station is slightly better than the X1 OMNI station, mainly if you have limited space.

AIVI 3D 2.0/ TrueMapping 3.0

Mapping
3D Map 2.0

For mapping, Deebot X2 OMNI has a new AINA model with reinforcement machine learning, allowing it to recognize better-complicated scenarios and learn the obstacle’s location. The 3D Map 2.0 software enables the creation of precise maps for targeting cleaning of specific areas 3 times faster than previous robot models as it has a 10 m scanning distance. The AI visual recognition system recognizes floor material and room type. All maps are secured and stored in the robot’s memory, which can never be loosened. Based on this information, the robot even suggests the cleaning schedule and mode per room.

3D Map

Using laser mapping technology (DToF laser sensors and LiDAR) and a 3D map creation feature, X1 OMNI creates detailed maps of your house to clean it accurately. The sensors ensure stability in laser scanning; all rooms will be named automatically in the app. All rooms can be visualized in 3D mode, and you can add furniture. The quick mapping function automatically starts with a short Yoko command before first use. If you accidentally delete the maps, you can quickly recover. With such mapping and navigation, the X1 cleans without missed and repeated spots.

Mapping technologies that are built-in in the X2 OMNI allow the creation of maps quicker and more detailed; because of that X2 is the winner.

Filtration
3-stage filtration

The OMNI X2 has three filters. The main filter installed in the dust box consists of two parts – a sponge filter for capturing large dust particles and a HEPA filter element for fine parts.

Both parts are washable and should be replaced after 2-3 months of usage. At the suction inlet, a net filter is installed to capture extra-large parts to prevent the main filter from damage.

3-stage filtration

The X1 OMNI also has three types of filters – net filter, sponge, and high-efficiency filter (F9).

Sponge and F9 filter combine together one washable element for blocking large and fine parts. The filter element is recommended to be replaced after 2-3 months.

The 3-stage filtration system is similar for both vacuum cleaners, so there is no winner.

For vacuuming, the X2 model has a 200 mm rubber roller brush – to make the cleaning path wider by 19% than the Deebot X1 OMNI and clean to the edge of the walls. The robot also has only one side brush to clean corners.

Dustbin Features
420 ml

The OMNI X2 has a 420 ml built-in dust box. The dust box is auto-emptied after each cycle in the OMNI station. You can also clean the dust box with tap water or use cleaning tools (not included in the package) while cleaning the filter element.

400 ml

The X1 OMNI has a 400 ml built-in dust box. This plastic dust box can be emptied automatically in the OMNI station and cleaned using a multi-functional package cleaning tool or cold water.

YIKO/Alexa/Siri/Google/App

Deebot X2 OMNI is equipped with upgraded YIKO 2.0 (for voice control) with a home knowledge graph for voice control and accurate instructions. If you open the lid of the OMNI station (valid both for X1 and X2), you will find a QR code for installation of the ECOVACS HOME app for robot control.

The robot connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth during the first paring; after that, you need to connect to the Home Wi-Fi network.

In the application, you can check the mapping of your home and insert your cleaning preferences (type of cleaning, vacuum power, water flow level, schedule of cleaning, number of times, number of rooms cleaned, etc.).

Maintenance

Most of the regular maintenance for both models is performed by All-in-One OMNI stations, which empty and clean the dustbin, refill the water tank with fresh water, and clean and dry mop pads. But as said earlier, you need to clean the filtration system (at least once per month). The overall cleaning frequency recommendations for the two models are the following:

  • All sensors and charging contacts – once a week.
  • Robot body and OMNI station – once a week.
  • Edge and main brushes – once in two weeks.
  • Clean water tank in OMNI station – once in 3 months.
  • Dirty water tanks in OMNI station – after each self-cleaning cycle.
  • Filters – once a week.

The dust bag in the OMNI station is disposable; mopping pads, dust bin, and clean water tank are cleaned automatically. All cleaning procedures should be performed with tap water, and all the parts should be dried; you may use a dry cloth to speed up.

Disposable dust bags should be replaced with the new one after each use (for the X2 after 90 days, for the X1 after 75 days, or when the OMNI station gives the signal that they are full), filters should be replaced after 2-3 months, mopping pads – 1-2 months, edge brushes – 3-6 months, main brush – 6-12 months.
