SharkNinja American Company from 1993 produces different types of vacuum cleaners – robots, upright, mops, handheld, etc. Among the vast choices, two models, Shark NV501 and NV752, receive many positive reviews and will be compared below in detail.

These upright vacuum cleaners represent the traditional way of manual cleaning with powerful suction and are almost equally good at working on hard floors and carpets. Their comparison of technical characteristics with the information included in the package tools and brushes will help you to choose the cleaner for a pet hair or sand pebbles.

Upright

Shark NV501 and NV752 are upright vacuum cleaners. NV501 is slightly smaller and lighter, which makes it easier to maneuver and lift. These models also differ in color: NV501 – red and white, NV752 – dark red and white. But, in general, the construction of both is the same.

2. Cleaning Orientation

2 in 1 Vacuum

Even though both models are 2-in-1 vacuum cleaners, in the comparison of Shark NV501 vs NV752, the last one is the winner. 2 modes of vacuum cleaning means that they can be used as regular upright vacuum cleaners, and also, they have a detachable pod for portable cleaning of stairs, curtains, or furniture with one press of a button. The pod could be detached in two places – with a wand or without. The powered lift away technology gives the advantage of cleaning under the furniture without the dustbin; in this mode, the brush still has power. For NV501 lifting mode, there is no power on a brush.

3. Suction Power
1200 watts
1150 watts

The cleaners have almost the same wattage, so there is no significant difference in performance. But NV752 has a larger dirt capacity – 1.5 quarts instead of 1.3 quarts for NV501.

4. Mopping Performance
No
No

Unfortunately, neither of these cleaners do have a mopping performance function.

5. Maneuverability

Advanced swivel steering

The maneuverability of both vacuums is the same with advanced swivel steering. It can easily go into tight places, corners, and furniture. The rotating function of brushes improves access to remote places as well.

6. Cleaning path
9.5 inches
10.5 inches

The wider the cleaning path is, the fewer movements you need to take during cleaning. NV752 with a more comprehensive cleaning path is preferable to NV501.

7. Filtration
HEPA filter / foam filter / felt filter
HEPA filter / foam filter / felt filter

NV501 and NV752 have identical anti-allergen complete seal construction. It consists of a post-motor HEPA filter from one end, not allowing allergens and dust to go outside the cleaner, and from the other end of a pre-motor felt filter and filter frame for foam filter. The HEPA filter keeps up to 0.3 microns particles in 99.9% of the total amount. All filters are washable and should be cleaned at least once per month. Foam and felt filters should be changed in 3 months, and HEPA filter – after 12 months.

Bristle straight suction floor nozzle
Motorized floor nozzle

In addition, NV752 has a powerful pet brush for different types of hair in the package. At the same time, NV501 has a bristle dusting brush significantly weaker in pet hair cleaning. Both models have identical upholstery tools for cleaning fabrics, shelves, tables, and crevices for tight spaces. Moreover, NV752 has an LED light on the handle to find dirt on the above-floor areas.

0.88 Quarts

Shark NV501 and NV752 have the 0.88 Quarts dustbin. But the construction of a dustbin allows NV752 to keep more dust 1.5 quarts vs 1.3 quarts for NV501. Such a size dustbin is an extra-large capacity dustbin compared to other upright vacuums. The dustbin is easily removed from the wand and empties with one button in seconds.

25 feet
30 feet

These vacuum cleaners do not have batteries as powered by electricity. NV752 has a 5 ft longer cable than NV501, which is a significant benefit.
