Deebot X1 OMNI vs. TURBO is among the most debated topics on robot vacuum forums and review sites. Consumers are not sure which of the two new vacuums from ECOVACS is the best purchase. For those in this dilemma, this is the best place to be. We have compared the two robot vacuums to determine which is the best purchase.
ECOVACS, one of the best robot vacuum brands, released the X1 family of robot vacuums that includes Deebot X1 OMNI, Deebot X1 TURBO, and Deebot X1 Plus. As an icebreaker, the X1 OMNI and X1 TURBO are the creme de la creme in the X1 family. In this comparison review, we will be focusing on these two models. So, what makes them different?
The Deebot X1 OMNI and X1 TURBO are similar, but the OMNI is the best choice. It is an all-round robot vacuum with a bigger station dubbed OMNI Station. On the other hand, the X1 TURBO comes with a smaller TURBO station minus the automatic emptying function. For deeper insights on how the two top-rated ECOVACS robot vacuums compare, read along.
Which one to choose Deebot X1 OMNI or Deebot X1 TURBO?

Deebot X1 OMNI vs. TURBO Face to Face
Ecovacs X1 OMNI boasts a low-profile design that allows it to go under most furniture and other low-profile spots where pets like to hide or where dirt settles. Its diameter stretches 36.2cm, so it can pass between tight spaces. Its height is 10.4cm meaning it can go under low profile furniture.
In terms of aesthetics, the X1 OMNI is so cool, courtesy of the magic of Jacob Jensen, one of the best design studios. It’s sleek enough to complement your interior decor. As mentioned earlier, the X1 OMNI has a larger station with a bigger footprint.
The Ecovacs X1 TURBO is also a low-profile robot vacuum. It will reach under most low-profile furniture and other household fittings where dirt settles and pets like to hide while grooming themselves, leaving behind lots of pet hair. It has a thickness of 10.4cm, just like the X1 OMNI, and a diameter of 36.2cm to allow it to pass between tight spaces.
Regarding aesthetics, this is also a sleek robot vacuum designed by Jacob Jensen Design. When it comes to the base station, the X1 comes with a smaller base.
In terms of the robot vacuums themselves, there is no winner here as they all boast a low-profile design. However, when it comes to the base station, the X1 TURBO carries the day if you want to save space as it's smaller. But as we will see later on, the larger X1 TURBO's station comes with some enviable extras.
The Deebot X1 OMNI is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum. It will vacuum and mop at the same time. Interestingly, the X1 OMNI has a function that clears bacteria and eliminates bad odor.
When it comes to specialty, the Deebot OMNI has been designed for all types of bare floors, for example, hardwood, tile, linoleum, concrete, marble, vinyl, etc. Besides bare floors, its suction power allows it to vacuum all kinds of carpets satisfactorily, be it the low pile carpets or high pile.
You can also rely on the X1 to vacuum pet messes such as pet hair, and kitty litter and mop paw marks, and urine stains.
The Deebot X1 TURBO is not different from the X1 OMNI in terms of cleaning orientation. It’s also a 2-in-1 robot cleaner that can vacuum and mop simultaneously. In addition, it takes home cleaning further by killing bacteria and freshening the atmosphere.
When it comes to specialty, the X1 TURBO is also ideal for homes with all types of bare floors, from fragile hardwood to hard floors, including tile, marble, vinyl, concrete, etc. The X1 TURBO also has sufficient suction power to vacuum carpets satisfactorily. Whether it’s the thin carpets, thick carpets, or area rugs, it’s up for the task.
Last, it is also suitable for homes with pets. It picks up pet hair and kitty litter without any struggles and can mop paw marks and clean pet urine stains.
Regarding cleaning orientation, there is no winner as both models are 2-in-1 vacuum cleaners with the two extras - they both kill bacteria and freshen the atmosphere.
One of the premium features of the X1 series is the monster suction power. Under the hood, the X1 OMNI packs a powerful motor that generates a whopping 5000pa when firing on all cylinders. This is a multi-speed motor for the record, meaning the suction levels are adjustable. You can switch to the low power modes for light vacuuming to save power and lower operating noise.
There are four suction levels: Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max+. The Omni will automatically switch to high power when it detects carpets.
The X1 TURBO also boasts excellent suction power. It comes with a 4-speed motor that delivers a cool 5000pa suction power when it is in its highest power mode. This makes the X1 TURBO and the X1 OMNI the most potent robot vacuums we have tested and, importantly, the best robot vacuums for carpets.
There are four suction levels: Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max+. The Turbo also has automatic suction adjustment. It steps up suction when it is on carpets.
Regarding suction power, there is no contest as both the X1 OMNI and X1 TURBO come with the same motor, and ultimately, they put up the same suction power.
As mentioned earlier, the X1 OMNI has a mopping function, both wet and dry. Unlike the normal robot mops, this one has several features that make it the best robot vacuum mop. It’s the best Deebot, but unfortunately, it comes with OZMO TURBO 2.0 Rotary Pressure Mopping System. It boasts an 80ml onboard electronic water tank with three water levels (Low, Medium, and High) and two circular mopping pads that spin at 180 times per second, guaranteeing a deeper clean. Just to mention, the X1 Plus comes with OZMO 3.0.
All the same, the X1 OMNI does a great job. One of the best features of the OMNI is the fact that the OMNI Station has two 4L water tanks, one for clean water and another for dirty water. The robot can fill the robot’s onboard water tank automatically.
What’s more? The X1 OMNI can automatically wash the pads and dry them after cleaning to prevent them from stinking and developing molds, which can be a nuisance. The X1 OMNI can detect carpets to avoid wetting them, and you can also set no mop zones on the app.
Ozmo TURBO also supports wet and dry mopping courtesy of the OZMO TURBO 2.0 Rotary Pressure Mopping System which includes an 80ml electronic water tank with three water levels (Low, Medium, and High) and two circular mopping pads that spin 180 times per minute for effective scrubbing.
The XI TURBO station also comes with a station with two 4L water tanks, one for clean water and another for dirty water. The dock station automatically fills the robot’s onboard water tank so you can have peace of mind that your robot will finish mopping regardless of the size of your apartment.
It can also automatically clean the mopping pads like the X1 OMNI, which makes maintenance easier. The robot can also detect carpets, so you shouldn’t worry about the robot wetting them. Alternatively, you can set boundaries using the no mop zones feature.
In terms of mopping performance, the OMNI and TURBO all come with the same features and offer the same level of mopping performance. That said, there is no contest.
As one of the latest robot vacuums, the X1 OMNI boasts a state-of-the-art navigation system VSLAM navigation system. With AI computing power, it leverages AIVI™️ 3D technology and a 960p astrophotography-grade RGB camera to find its way around your home.
There are six sensors and a camera that give the robot the ability to see and recognize objects with human-like accuracy.
The OMNI also relies on TrueDetect 3D 2.0 and AIVI Object Recognition Strategic Cleaning for ultra-precise obstacle avoidance to prevent accidents.
The TURBO is also an intelligent robot vacuum with a premium VSLAM navigation system. Here again, the robot leverages AIVI 3D technology and an astrophotography-grade RGB camera.
Just like the OMNI, the TURBO, there are six sensors for detecting what’s in the robot’s environment and a real-time camera that makes navigation much more accurate.
Regarding obstacle avoidance, there’s TrueDetect 3D 2.0 and AIVI Object Recognition Strategic Cleaning, which detects and avoids even the tiniest obstacles, including hanging cables, socks, etc.
The OMNI and TURBO have the same navigation system consisting of sensors and a camera. They also leverage AI computing to make navigation accurate. From our tests, the navigation was the same even in high-traffic rooms.
To clean your house efficiently, the X1 OMNI relies on TrueMapping 2.0. This system also leverages AIVI™️ 3D technology to enable the robot to create and save up to 3 hyper-accurate maps of your house and clean in methodical patterns to ensure no spot is missed. TrueMapping 2.0 is the company’s latest technology. It increases mapping speeds by 10 times, doubles the visual range, and cuts cleaning time by 25%. Running on high-tech Horizon GAI chips, the X1 OMNI senses a range of objects and landmarks to create 3D maps of your home for targeted cleaning.
What’s more? You can set no-mop zones and no-go zones and even send the robot to clean specific rooms or spots. Other cool features include Quick Mapping, which maps your home in just 5 minutes, and Room Cleaning Sequence, which lets you decide the order of room cleaning.
The X1 TURBO also relies on TrueMapping 2.0 to create maps of your home for entire level cleaning. With AIVI™️ 3D technology and Horizon GAI chips, it can detect common household fittings and create up to 3 hyper-accurate 3D maps.
Just like the OMNI, it also has advanced features such as no-mop zones and no-go zones.
Like the OMNI, the X1 TURBO offers targeted cleaning. You can send it to clean a specific room or a specific spot. The X1 TURBO also has the Quick Mapping and Room Cleaning Sequence.
Regarding mapping, the two robot vacuums are the same. They both rely on TrueMapping 2.0 and leverage AIVI™️ 3D technology. That said, there is no contest in this round.
As mentioned earlier, the Deebot X1 OMNI doesn’t just vacuum and mop; it’s also designed to keep the atmosphere fresh. To do this, ECOVACS has designed it with a 3-layer filter system that captures elements that can cause a foul odor. This filter also captures allergens that can trigger allergies, for example, dust, dust mites, and pollen. For the record, these are not true HEPA filters as advertised.
The Deebot X1 TURBO also features a 3-layer filtration system that purifies the air. It captures elements that cause foul odor and the common allergy triggers, talk of pet dander, dust mites, and pollen. Like the OMNI X1’s, this filter is not a true-HEPA filter, but it still does a great job.
In this round, it's hard to call a winner as not robot vacuums have the same filtration system. ECOVACS says they can filter down to 0.3-0.5 microns.
One thing that hasn’t changed in the X1 series is the brush system. This model has two brushes, a primary brush and a secondary brush. The primary brush is a bristle spiral brush that agitates all kinds of stubborn and stuck-on dirt, lifting them, ready for pickup. It does a great job but can easily get tangled when dealing with the long dog hairs. On the sides, ECOVACS has equipped the X1 OMNI with a pair of spinning side brushes. While they can’t reach the deep corners effectively, they do a great job on the wall edges. They sweep dirt, pushing them towards the main brush.
Just like the X1 OMNI, the X1 TURBO also has two brush systems; a primary brush and a secondary brush. The primary brush is the same bristle spiral brush that agitates and lifts dirt ready for suctioning into the bin. Here again, you can’t always rely on this brush to pick up long pet and human hair as it tends to get tangled easily. The main brush is assisted by two spinning side brushes that extend the robot vacuum’s reach to the deep corners and wall edges. While they are effective on the wall edges, they can’t reach the deep corners as marketed by the Chinese brand. Only the D-shaped robot vacuums, such as the Neato BotVacs and Roomba S series, can reach the deep corners effectively.
As far as the brush system is concerned, the two models in this Deebot X1 comparison review score the same. They have the same primary and secondary brushes.
The Deebot X1 OMNI has an onboard bin with a 0.5L capacity. But the most exciting feature is the OMNI station that comes with automatic self-emptying, a feature that offers hands-free cleaning. You don’t have to worry about emptying the onboard bin after each cleaning session, as the OMNI station does the heavy lifting for you.
With an impressive suction of 21 kPa, it takes just 10 seconds to have the onboard bin emptied into the large 3L disposable bag, holding up to 60 days of dirt. This is one of the reasons that makes the OMNI the best model in the X1 family.
The X1 TURBO also comes with a 0.5L onboard bin, enough to hold the daily dirt of a busy home with kids and even pets.
But the difference between the X1 OMNI vs. TURBO is that while the OMNI supports automatic self-emptying, the X1 TURBO’s station doesn’t have auto emptying capabilities.
This means you will have to empty the bin manually, preferably daily, after each cleaning session.
Regarding the dustbin, the Deebot OMNI takes the crown as users don't have to worry about emptying the bin manually. The OMNI station does all the work for at least 60 days, while the TURBO has to be emptied manually between cleaning sessions.
While the X1 family is a new release, nothing much has changed in terms of the battery and runtime. Ecovacs is still using the same lithium-ion battery that has been previously used in the earlier models. This is a 5200mAh battery that offers 180 minutes of runtime when in low power mode. Of course, when in high power modes, the runtime dips, but this is still one of the best robot vacuums for large apartments.
When it comes to power management, the X1 OMNI will recharge and resume cleaning automatically, so you don’t have to worry about a half-cleaned home because the robot didn’t resume cleaning after recharging. The recharge time is around 6.5 hours.
The X1 TURBO also has the exact battery specifications as the X1 OMNI. It also features a 5200mAh lithium-ion battery that puts up a whopping 180 minutes runtime when in low power mode. Just like the OMNI, the TURBO’s runtime also drops when the robot is in high power mode. The X1 TURBO is also a good robot vacuum for large apartments.
Regarding power management, the X1 TURBO can also recharge and resume cleaning automatically. You don’t have to prompt it to go back to finish the job after recharging – it knows it’s supposed to finish the job. The X1 TURBO recharges in 6.5 hours.
In this round, there's no contest. Both robot vacuums have the same battery type with the same capacity. They will also recharge and resume cleaning automatically, and the recharge time is the same too.
The Deebot OMNI is an intelligent robot vacuum with plenty of automation and smart features. To start, it has three cleaning modes, Area, Auto, and Custom. You can also schedule the robot to clean at specific times.
Onto smart features, the OMNI is compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi for mobile app and voice assistant operation. You can access all the controls via the ECOVACS Home app. Besides, this robot vacuum can sync with voice assistants such as Alexa and Google Assistant.
But what if you don’t have these 3rd party voice assistants? Well, ECOVACS engineered the OMNI with built-in voice control, a feature that leverages sound source localization. For starters, sound source localization technology lets homeowners tell the robot where to clean or where not to clean, and the robot will obey the command. It traces the source of the sound to know where it should or should not clean.
There’s also YIKO Voice Assistant, a new AI voice control technology that enables homeowners to guide the robot in its cleaning endeavors.
Another exciting feature is the Live Monitoring with 2-way Audio. The OMNI can also be used for surveillance courtesy of the cameras. Just put a marker on any spot, and the OMNI will head there to survey the area. There is also a microphone and speakers that support two-way communication.
The Deebot X1 TURBO is precisely the same as the OMNI in terms of automation and smart features. It also has three cleaning modes, Area, Auto, and Custom, and can be programmed to clean at specific times.
The TURBO is also compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi, which facilitates mobile app operation via the ECOVACS Home App and voice assistant compatibility.
On the mobile app, you get access to all controls. It’s also possible to control the robot via Alexa and Google Assistant.
For those who don’t have a 3rd party voice assistant, the TURBO has inbuilt voice control with sound source localization technology that works the same way as the OMNI. Just go to a spot where you want the robot to clean or not to clean, and it will oblige.
This robot also maintains the innovative YIKO Voice Assistant to help you guide the robot on what to do. Last is the Live Monitoring with 2-way Audio.
This feature lets you monitor any zone in your home remotely and even communicate with your pets or whoever is at home, courtesy of the cameras and inbuilt microphones and speakers.
The X1 OMNI and TURBO are the same in terms of automation and intelligent features. That said, this round ends in a draw.

Maintenance
Turn the OMNI upside down, and check whether the brush has any stuck-on dirt or tangles. If there is any, remove it and clean it thoroughly for optimal performance. The main brush should be replaced after 6-8 months. For the side brushes, make sure they are spinning freely. Replacement is after 6-8 months too.
The X1 TURBO’s brushes also require maintenance. The drill is also the same. Lift the robot and inspect whether there are any tangles or stuck-on dirt on the main brush. Remove any tangles or dirt that can make the robot vacuum ineffective in agitation. Main brush replacement is after 6-8 months, depending on the wear and tear. Side brushes should also be spinning freely. Replacement them after 6-8 months.
One of the best features of the OMNI is the Auto-Wash, a feature that automatically cleans the mopping pads. There’s also Auto-Hot Air Dry that dries the mopping pads too. That said, you don’t need to worry about the mopping pads’ maintenance. But then, you have to replace them after 3-4 months.
The X1 TURBO also doesn’t require frequent mopping pads maintenance. Here again, the TURBO Station has Auto-Wash and Auto-Hot Air Dry features meaning the robot vacuum takes care of the mopping pads maintenance. So, your only job will be replacing the mopping pads after 3-4 months, depending on the wear and tear.
At least twice a month, lift the X1 OMNI’s lid and pop out the filtration chamber. Tap it in a dustbin to remove excess dirt and dirt, then rinse it using cold water and leave it to dry before putting it back. Replace the filter after 3-4 months for optimal performance.
The Deebot X1 TURBO also requires filter maintenance at least twice a month. Here again, lift the lid and pop out the filter. Tap it in a trash can to get rid of excess dust and dirt before rinsing it and drying it. Then put it back. Buy a replacement filter after 3-4 months.
The OMNI’s clean water tank should be refilled with cleaning water once the levels go down. Don’t use any cleaning agent. The dirty water tank should also be emptied and rinsed when necessary.
The X1 TURBO also has a clean water tank that should be replenished often and a dirty tank to be emptied and maybe rinsed when necessary.
One big advantage of the X1 OMNI is that it doesn’t require manual bin emptying. It comes with the OMNI Station that empties the onboard bin automatically. Your only job will be removing the dirtbag when full and replacing it with a new one.
On the other hand, the X1 TURBO doesn’t have automatic emptying. This means you will have to be emptying the onboard bin after every cleaning session.
As far as maintenance is concerned, the Deebot X1 OMNI is the best choice as it tags along with the OMNI Station that supports automatic bin emptying. Otherwise, all the other maintenance requirements are the same.
