Deebot X1 OMNI vs. TURBO Comparison Review

The Deebot X1 OMNI is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum. It will vacuum and mop at the same time. Interestingly, the X1 OMNI has a function that clears bacteria and eliminates bad odor.

When it comes to specialty, the Deebot OMNI has been designed for all types of bare floors, for example, hardwood, tile, linoleum, concrete, marble, vinyl, etc. Besides bare floors, its suction power allows it to vacuum all kinds of carpets satisfactorily, be it the low pile carpets or high pile.

You can also rely on the X1 to vacuum pet messes such as pet hair, and kitty litter and mop paw marks, and urine stains.

One of the premium features of the X1 series is the monster suction power. Under the hood, the X1 OMNI packs a powerful motor that generates a whopping 5000pa when firing on all cylinders. This is a multi-speed motor for the record, meaning the suction levels are adjustable. You can switch to the low power modes for light vacuuming to save power and lower operating noise.

There are four suction levels: Quiet, Standard, Max, and Max+. The Omni will automatically switch to high power when it detects carpets.

As mentioned earlier, the X1 OMNI has a mopping function, both wet and dry. Unlike the normal robot mops, this one has several features that make it the best robot vacuum mop. It’s the best Deebot, but unfortunately, it comes with OZMO TURBO 2.0 Rotary Pressure Mopping System. It boasts an 80ml onboard electronic water tank with three water levels (Low, Medium, and High) and two circular mopping pads that spin at 180 times per second, guaranteeing a deeper clean. Just to mention, the X1 Plus comes with OZMO 3.0.

All the same, the X1 OMNI does a great job. One of the best features of the OMNI is the fact that the OMNI Station has two 4L water tanks, one for clean water and another for dirty water. The robot can fill the robot’s onboard water tank automatically.

What’s more? The X1 OMNI can automatically wash the pads and dry them after cleaning to prevent them from stinking and developing molds, which can be a nuisance. The X1 OMNI can detect carpets to avoid wetting them, and you can also set no mop zones on the app.

As one of the latest robot vacuums, the X1 OMNI boasts a state-of-the-art navigation system VSLAM navigation system. With AI computing power, it leverages AIVI™️ 3D technology and a 960p astrophotography-grade RGB camera to find its way around your home.

There are six sensors and a camera that give the robot the ability to see and recognize objects with human-like accuracy.

The OMNI also relies on TrueDetect 3D 2.0 and AIVI Object Recognition Strategic Cleaning for ultra-precise obstacle avoidance to prevent accidents.

To clean your house efficiently, the X1 OMNI relies on TrueMapping 2.0. This system also leverages AIVI™️ 3D technology to enable the robot to create and save up to 3 hyper-accurate maps of your house and clean in methodical patterns to ensure no spot is missed. TrueMapping 2.0 is the company’s latest technology. It increases mapping speeds by 10 times, doubles the visual range, and cuts cleaning time by 25%. Running on high-tech Horizon GAI chips, the X1 OMNI senses a range of objects and landmarks to create 3D maps of your home for targeted cleaning.

What’s more? You can set no-mop zones and no-go zones and even send the robot to clean specific rooms or spots. Other cool features include Quick Mapping, which maps your home in just 5 minutes, and Room Cleaning Sequence, which lets you decide the order of room cleaning.

As mentioned earlier, the Deebot X1 OMNI doesn’t just vacuum and mop; it’s also designed to keep the atmosphere fresh. To do this, ECOVACS has designed it with a 3-layer filter system that captures elements that can cause a foul odor. This filter also captures allergens that can trigger allergies, for example, dust, dust mites, and pollen. For the record, these are not true HEPA filters as advertised.

One thing that hasn’t changed in the X1 series is the brush system. This model has two brushes, a primary brush and a secondary brush. The primary brush is a bristle spiral brush that agitates all kinds of stubborn and stuck-on dirt, lifting them, ready for pickup. It does a great job but can easily get tangled when dealing with the long dog hairs. On the sides, ECOVACS has equipped the X1 OMNI with a pair of spinning side brushes. While they can’t reach the deep corners effectively, they do a great job on the wall edges. They sweep dirt, pushing them towards the main brush.

The Deebot X1 OMNI has an onboard bin with a 0.5L capacity. But the most exciting feature is the OMNI station that comes with automatic self-emptying, a feature that offers hands-free cleaning. You don’t have to worry about emptying the onboard bin after each cleaning session, as the OMNI station does the heavy lifting for you.

With an impressive suction of 21 kPa, it takes just 10 seconds to have the onboard bin emptied into the large 3L disposable bag, holding up to 60 days of dirt. This is one of the reasons that makes the OMNI the best model in the X1 family.

While the X1 family is a new release, nothing much has changed in terms of the battery and runtime. Ecovacs is still using the same lithium-ion battery that has been previously used in the earlier models. This is a 5200mAh battery that offers 180 minutes of runtime when in low power mode. Of course, when in high power modes, the runtime dips, but this is still one of the best robot vacuums for large apartments.

When it comes to power management, the X1 OMNI will recharge and resume cleaning automatically, so you don’t have to worry about a half-cleaned home because the robot didn’t resume cleaning after recharging. The recharge time is around 6.5 hours.

The Deebot OMNI is an intelligent robot vacuum with plenty of automation and smart features. To start, it has three cleaning modes, Area, Auto, and Custom. You can also schedule the robot to clean at specific times.

Onto smart features, the OMNI is compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi for mobile app and voice assistant operation. You can access all the controls via the ECOVACS Home app. Besides, this robot vacuum can sync with voice assistants such as Alexa and Google Assistant.

But what if you don’t have these 3rd party voice assistants? Well, ECOVACS engineered the OMNI with built-in voice control, a feature that leverages sound source localization. For starters, sound source localization technology lets homeowners tell the robot where to clean or where not to clean, and the robot will obey the command. It traces the source of the sound to know where it should or should not clean.

There’s also YIKO Voice Assistant, a new AI voice control technology that enables homeowners to guide the robot in its cleaning endeavors.

Another exciting feature is the Live Monitoring with 2-way Audio. The OMNI can also be used for surveillance courtesy of the cameras. Just put a marker on any spot, and the OMNI will head there to survey the area. There is also a microphone and speakers that support two-way communication.

Turn the OMNI upside down, and check whether the brush has any stuck-on dirt or tangles. If there is any, remove it and clean it thoroughly for optimal performance. The main brush should be replaced after 6-8 months. For the side brushes, make sure they are spinning freely. Replacement is after 6-8 months too.

One of the best features of the OMNI is the Auto-Wash, a feature that automatically cleans the mopping pads. There’s also Auto-Hot Air Dry that dries the mopping pads too. That said, you don’t need to worry about the mopping pads’ maintenance. But then, you have to replace them after 3-4 months.

At least twice a month, lift the X1 OMNI’s lid and pop out the filtration chamber. Tap it in a dustbin to remove excess dirt and dirt, then rinse it using cold water and leave it to dry before putting it back. Replace the filter after 3-4 months for optimal performance.

The OMNI’s clean water tank should be refilled with cleaning water once the levels go down. Don’t use any cleaning agent. The dirty water tank should also be emptied and rinsed when necessary.

One big advantage of the X1 OMNI is that it doesn’t require manual bin emptying. It comes with the OMNI Station that empties the onboard bin automatically. Your only job will be removing the dirtbag when full and replacing it with a new one.
