Tineco iFLOOR vs. iFLOOR ONE S3: Comparison Review
Do you have a hyperactive dog, a toddler who has learned how to fling food, or a hectic work schedule? If you want your home clean and more pleasant to live in, I suggest you read my Tineco iFLOOR vs. iFLOOR ONE S3 review.
As a homeowner, you are aware that vacuuming can be time-consuming and mopping creates more messes than it cleans.
So, why don’t you get a cordless combination of a bare floor washer and a wet/dry vacuum cleaner?
- The Tineco iFLOOR aims to reinvent your cleaning methods by combining two traditional separate activities in one quick and simple routine. While this dry/wet vacuum cleaner and mop combo is not as powerful as corded models, it is more than enough to tidy up small homes in between deep cleans.
- If your budget won’t allow you to get a Bissell CrossWave, your next best option is the iFLOOR ONE S3. This cleaner is great for the busy family, as it mops and vacuums in one step. It has better suction and longer runtime than the original iFLOOR. More impressively, it boasts of automated features and it is self-propelling to boot! Your kids may get themselves involved as cleaning has become fun.
Tineco iFLOOR vs. iFLOOR ONE S3: What are the Main Differences?
- iFLOOR does not have automated features
The Tineco iFLOOR is an entry model compared to the Tineco iFLOOR ONE S3. The latter supports smartphone integration and voice assistance, among others.
- iFLOOR ONE S3 comes with extras
Apart from the cleaning solution, the iFLOOR ONE S3 arrives with an extra HEPA filter and brushroll.
- iFLOOR ONE S3 is more suitable for dealing with large spills
The iFLOOR ONE S3 has larger tanks and more battery life, which makes it a better choice for messier homes.
What is Tineco?
Tineco is a tech company specializing in smart electrical appliances since 1998. Despite being a new player in the industry, Tineco gained 345 trademarks and over 1, 000 patents overseas.
Among the company’s best-selling products are the iFLOOR and iFLOOR ONE S3. Also known as “vacmops,” these units can sweep, vacuum, and mop hard floors, as well as deodorize low-pile carpets. These units consistently rate high in customer feedback with users calling it the “ultimate timesaver.”
Its forte lies in tidying up sealed floors, such as glazed ceramics, hardwood, laminate, and marble. As a vacuum, it is more than capable of picking up daily detritus from hard floors. You may also use this unit for refreshing carpets in between deep cleans.
This cordless cleaner is rechargeable with up to 22 minutes of battery life. Its lightweight design ensures good maneuverability. The low-profile cleaner head will make it around common obstacles. To mop, you only need to mix a cap of the included solution and 500ml water.Pros
- Cleans big nasty spills and performs light mopping jobs
- Uses less water than traditional mopping
- Includes a cleaning solution, but you can use whatever available
- Needs a few more passes to clear the area of residue
- No HEPA Air filter
- Battery life is insufficient for large homes
The Tineco iFLOOR ONE S3 has the same design philosophy as the original model and it is likewise intended for the same cleaning jobs. Only this time, the ONE S3 comes with certain processes and systems that make it automated.
Better known as the iLOOP Sensor Technology, it detects the condition of your floor, so that the machine can apply the necessary force to get it clean. The smart cleaner will adjust the water flow and suction power accordingly.
Moreover, a voice assistant will deliver real-time updates while you clean, including performance status, blockages, power level, etc. You may also turn off the voice alerts if you wish.
This model also connects to the Tineco app where you can access the same operational information, plus troubleshooting, tech support, and cleaning history stats. The LED digital screen of the vacmop will also display reminders.
All of these amazing features make a significant difference in your overall experience!
- Optimizes water flow and suction power
- All essential parts are at the base, keeping the machine stable and upright
- Has all the basic features of the iFLOOR, plus smartphone integration and voice assistance
- Larger tank capacity, stronger suction, and longer battery life
- Outer rim of the UI turns from red to blue for a guided experience
- Takes a little more finesse and angling to pop back the tanks into the machine
Tineco iFLOOR vs iFLOOR ONE 3: Face to Face Comparison
Have you owned or seen a Bissell CrossWave All-in-One Wet/Dry Vacuum Cleaner and Mop? The iFLOOR is a copy of the said product, but it is cordless and a lot more affordable to boot.
The machine’s physical dimensions are 10.6 x 9.8 x 43.7 inches and it weighs 6.5 pounds. Like a regular vacuum, this unit features a main cleaner head with a soft brushroll. It is capable of picking up dirt and small debris, as well as for washing hard floors.
To start, you either press either the “On” or “Spot” button, which spins the brush faster. Basically, the latter is a high-power mode.
There are two transparent tanks: one for solution mix and the other for dirty liquids. When you push the trigger, it sprays sudsy water.
What I did not like is that I have to empty the dirty tank more often than I would. If the liquids are nearing the Max line, you will hear a tone change and it will start leaking from the bottom of the unit.
Lastly, the iFLOOR arrives with a self-cleaning tray that also serves as its docking station.
iFLOOR iFLOOR ONE S3
The iFLOOR ONE S3 measures 11.3 x 10 x 43.3 inches and weighs 9.9 pounds. This model has a similar design as the original iFLOOR, but heavier. Being black also gives the device a more sophisticated look. Plus, there is an LED that shows the battery level and power indicator.
The charging base is also smartly designed. You can store the extra brushroll, extra HEPA filter, and the 3-in-1 cleaning brush. When not in use, the machine will sit and charge on the dock.
The charging base is also where the cleaner runs a self-cleaning cycle.
The first iFLOOR does not have smart features.
iFLOOR ONE S3
Tineco describes the iFLOOR ONE S3 as a “smart” vacuum cleaner and carpet washer hybrid due to the app, voice integration, and AI.
The app shows you maintenance reminders, tech support, and your cleaning history, among many other things. This gizmo also has an onboard UI, which is brutally honest about how filthy your floors are. While the interface starts off red, it will turn blue when your floors are pristine.
Instead of viewing the stats via the app, you can have the machine announce things like when to empty the dirty water tank. The voice assistant will provide real-time updates while you clean, such as blockages, performance status, power level, and so forth.
More impressively, the smart sensors will identify the current state of the floor being vacuumed and washed. Also known as the iLoop Smart Sensor Technology, it tailors itself accordingly, changing the suction power or the amount of water it needs to dispense.
Weight and Maneuverability
iFLOOR ONE S3
The iFLOOR ONE S3 weighs about 11 pounds when the detergent reservoir is in its max capacity. Regardless, I find the machine lightweight enough to carry between floors. The ability to remain stable and upright during a pause is also a thoughtful addition, which I rarely find in comparable cordless designs.
With the iFLOOR ONE S3, it is an easy feat to zoom around the highly trafficked kitchen and living room. The vacmop seems to spring to life with a kick! However, I still could not get the machine to go a little further underneath low-profile accent chairs and coffee tables.
Power and Runtime
iFLOOR ONE S3
The Tineco iFLOOR ONE S3 is rated at 200 watts with a 4000mAh lithium-ion battery. This hybrid cleaner is able to provide a runtime of 35 minutes in Auto mode.
Not a single minute will be wasted since the AI and smart sensors will adjust the water flow and suction power accordingly. Max mode may do the trick with pet hair and muddy prints, but it consumes a battery a lot faster.
Both the iFLOOR and iFLOOR ONE S3 use a built-in battery. Should there be any concerns with the battery, you will need to replace the unit.
iFLOOR ONE S3
A soft brushroll is likewise built into the iFLOOR ONE S3 and this time, you get an extra brushroll to boot. Compared to the iFLOOR brushroll, the ONE S3 seems to have denser and stronger bristles.
The only nitpicky thing I can say is that I wish the extra brushroll was made of strong nylon bristles. A hard brushroll would be helpful for things like a day-old drop of tomato sauce. Sometimes the vacmop is not hard enough to scrape away dried stains. I still have to get down and scrub using a scouring pad.
Water Tank and Solution
iFLOOR ONE S3
The water reservoir of the iFLOOR ONE S3 is 100 ml bigger than the iFLOOR. You will also find a deodorizing and cleaning solution in the package.
A positive thing about these vacmops is that they are economical. Aside from their reasonable price, it only takes one capful of the solution to work.
- Auto Mode: 50 ml/min
- Max Mode: 200 ml/min
Tineco recommends the exclusive use of their cleaning solution. I used other formulas to give my floors a natural shine and I don’t have any issues.
Filter iFLOOR vs. iFLOOR ONE S3
The iFLOOR ONE S3 comes equipped with a HEPA filter. You will also receive an extra HEPA filter. The iFLOOR, on the other hand, uses an ordinary filter.
Tineco iFloor vs iFloor ONE S3: Cleaning Tests
Starting with simple wet spills, both the iFLOOR and iFLOOR ONE S3 picked up a glass of Kool-Aid in a single back-and-forth pass without any visible residue.
I then increased the thickness of the spill by using 100 grams of ranch dressing. The pick-up ability of both models was fantastic. However, there was little residue left for the iFLOOR, so I needed to make an extra pass. The iFLOOR ONE S3 did a better job than the other in terms of residue at this point.
For a super messy spill, I used a bowl of milk and soggy cornflakes. Here, I moved the vacmops a tad slower to ensure they gobble up all the debris. The iFLOOR ONE S3 picked up all the material in 7 passes, while the iFLOOR finished after 13 passes.
Lastly, I ended the test with two tablespoons of dried-on spaghetti sauce. I made sure the stains were dried to a sticky consistency. For this test, the iFLOOR ONE S3 picked up all the material after three passes, while the latter required a few more passes to clear the area of residue.
Overall, the iFLOOR ONE S3 delivered the best show after each pass!
