Vacuum cleaners of all types become an essential part of each house, helping to remove dust and debris in a couple of minutes. Depending on your budget, cleaning time, desired involvement in the cleaning process and common debris types, you can choose canister vacuums, stick vacuums, handheld vacuums, upright vacuums, cordless vacuums or robotic vacuum cleaners. On the market recently appeared versatile cleaners – they can perform dry vacuuming, mopping, or mopping after vacuuming. So, the choice of vacuum cleaners is vast, but the choice of brands, series, and technical characteristics is significantly wider.

This article will provide more light on two smart cordless stick cleaners from Tineco. Their detailed comparison of Tineco S5 vs. S5 Pro shows the pros and cons of each model, and you will find out why they become best-sellers. These vacuums can, in a few minutes, easily remove stains from milk, ketchup and egg; collect pet food and hair. Their enlarged battery allows to clean all remote spaces in your house without annoying cords.

Tineco S5 vs. S5 Pro – Face-to-Face comparison

For a closer investigation of the similarities and differences between the two models, we will compare the functionality and technical characteristics one by one.
Design
Stick

Tineco Floor One S5 is a smart black stick cleaner. In standard assembly, it consists of a brush roller connected together with clean and dirty water tanks, an adjustable tube, and an ergonomic handle (the parts are listed from the bottom to the top). A digital display for cleaning control is located on the tank’s assembly.

The dirty water tank is located in front of the cleaner, and the clean water tank is in the back. Both tanks have a release button and a handle for easy extraction, cleaning and filling tanks (where required).

The brush roller is redesigned for better edge cleaning; it cleans objects at a distance of up to 0.39 inches. The cleaner does not work in an upright position; you need to recline it (do not recline more than 142 degrees).

Stick

Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2 is a modern-looking stick vacuum cleaner. It has a black body with a couple of white accents on the handle and a dirty water tank. It has a main brush in the plastic cover for cleaning the floor.

For wet cleaning, it uses water from the transparent clean water tank located above the brush; the dirty water is collected in the dirty water tank located on the back side of the clean water tank. The motor is located in the same assembly as CWT and DWT.

On the top of the motor, the screen is located for full control of the cleaning process. This assembly is connected with a handle by the extension tube. The brush is designed for superior cleaning capabilities and can access all furniture up to 0.39 inches.

The design of two stick vacuums, Tineco Floor One S5 and Tineco Floor One S5 Pro 2, is the same. They have the same water tanks, brush, and handle; the only difference is in the smart screen (which will be discussed later). There is no winner in this part.

Mopping performance
Yes

Tineco S5 can be used only on hard floors as it vacuums and mops in one go. It uses fresh water in a small amount to leave your floor almost dry after cleaning.

Yes

Tineco S5 Pro 2 cleans wet and dry messes in one go on the hard floor with ease. It washes and vacuums in one step to decrease the cleaning time. The dual-tank system ensures cleaning only with fresh water that is constantly sprayed on the brush while washing.

There is no difference and a winner in the mopping performance of Tineco S5 vs S5 Pro. Both cleaners mop with a 450 rpm rotating brush.

Cleaning modes
2 modes

Tineco S5 has two cleaning modes – auto or max. In auto mode, the iLoop sensors automatically change suction power depending on the dirt amount; for maximum quantity, the cleaner will use the max mode. In the max mode, the cleaner uses the maximum suction power and sprays fresh water on the brush roller very often.

4 modes

Tineco S5 Pro 2 has four cleaning modes – auto, max, suction and ultra. In auto mode, the cleaner atomically adjusts the water flow and suction power depending on the detected dirt by the sensors. The max mode is used for tough messes, while the ultra-mode is recommended for deep cleaning. The suction mode should not be used for cleaning; in this mode, the water is absorbed from wet surfaces without spraying the new one.

In this part of the comparison of the Tineco S5 vs. S5 Pro, the Pro 2 model is the winner as it has 2 additional modes – ultra and suction- for more versatile hard floor cleaning.

Filtration
Dry filter

Tineco S5 is equipped with a dry washable filter to trap debris. It is cleaned with running water and installed in the dirty water tank lid. If your filter is not completely dried, you need to use a spare dry filter from the package. You can’t use a wet filter.

Dry filter

Tineco S5 Pro 2 has an easy-to-clean and dry filter. It is cleaned only with rinse water. It is installed in the plastic folder on the lid of the dirty water tank (HEPA assembly). It captures up to 99.99% of particles coming in dirty water. In the package, there is a spare filter.

Tineco S5 and S5 Pro 2 have the same type of dry filters. There is no winner.

Tools and Brushes
Main brush / cleaning tool

Tineco S5 has a fluff brush roller on the bottom of the roller cover to enhance collection and suction of dirt and debris, as well as wiping the hard floor during wet cleaning. The brush assembly is equipped with two large and two small wheels for swivel steering.

During wet and dry mode, the brush is rotated at a constant speed of 450 rpm to keep it clean for the whole process. All wastewater is scrapped by a built-in brush cover scrapper and directed for further suction. To clean the brush roller, you need to remove a brush cover with two slide buttons on the top.

During self-cleaning, the brush roll is deep cleaned and, after that, is dried by centrifugal drying to remove all water. For manual cleaning, the package includes a cleaning tool.

Main brush / cleaning tool

Tineco S5 Pro 2 comes with soft roller brushes with microfiber bristles for gently mopping hard floors without scrubbing. It manages all kinds of stains: sauce, dust, oil or hair. It also directs large and small debris for suction into the dirty water tank.

The roller is made into a plastic assembly with two wheels for better steering. Near the brush roll is located the scraper to remove dirty water from the brush. The freshwater is sprayed from the other side to maintain the cleaning only with a fresh brush.

The cleaning tool that comes in the package is used to clean the DWT and brush cover (plastic assembly), and with bristles, you can remove dirt and mud from the brush roller. With one push of a button, you can start a self-cleaning process for deep cleaning of all tubes and a brush roller. It uses centrifugal drying to dry the brush immediately.

The standard package of both stick Tineco vacuums includes two soft brush rollers and one cleaning tool. There is no winner at this point.

Water tank features
CWT – 0.8 L, DWT – 0.72 L

Tineco S5 has separate tanks for clean and dirty water. Even though the clean water tank(CWT) looks small (0.8 L), it is enough to mop up the whole battery life, as the cleaner does not use a lot of water.

The brush roller is constantly sprayed with clean water to be wet and clean for the whole cleaning process; the dirty water and debris are sucked into the dirty water tank(DWT). You can add fresh water as a cleaning solution for better results.

The DWT has a built-in pet hair strainer for quick hair removal during tank cleaning and to prevent your drain from clogging.

CWT – 0.8 L, DWT – 0.72 L

Tineco S5 Pro 2 has two separate transparent plastic tanks for clean and dirty water. The clean water tank is larger than the dirty water tank. For easy removal, both tanks have a release and handle.

You can add to the CWT the deodorizing cleaning solution for effectively removing everyday messes on sealed floors, tiles, laminate and others.

It is safe for kids and pets. When the water level in the DWT reaches the maximum level, you will be alerted by the voice prompt and the indicator on the screen. The vacuum cleaner will stop working and ask to empty and clean the tank.

The dual tank construction of both Tineco models is the same. We can’t call the winner in this round.

Battery and runtime
4000 mAh / 35 minutes

Tineco S5 has a 4000 mAh battery that works in auto mode for 35 minutes (up to 2500 ft2 of cleaning area). If you use the max mode, the estimated working time decreases to 28 minutes.

4000 mAh / 35 minutes

Tineco S5 Pro 2 has a 21.66 V/4000 mAh LiON battery. It works for 35 minutes in Auto and Suction mode and 28 minutes in max mode (estimation).

Tineco S5 Floor One and Floor One Pro 2 are equipped with the same replaceable LiON battery. There is no winner.

Charging dock
3-in-1

The charging dock of Tineco S5 comes with an adapter and, in addition to charging, can be used as storage for additional tools (extra brush roll and a cleaning tool).

The vacuum cleaner is fully charged for 4-5 hours. This 3-in-1 charging dock is also a good storage place for your stick vacuums, where it will stay firmly near the wall.

3-in-1

Tineco Floor ONE S5 Pro 2 has a 3-in-1 docking station. It has a charging function and an automatic self-cleaning cycle.

Moreover, it has a holder for the spares (the brush and dry filter), the cleaning tool and the cleaning solution. The charging time is 4-5 hours; the cleaning cycle is 2 minutes.

The charging docks of Tineco S5 and S5 Pro are identical. So, there is no winner.

Automation and smart features
3 buttons / iLoop sensor/ app

The Tineco S5 is controlled with three buttons located on the handle: power on/off, auto/max mode, and self-cleaning. iLoop sensors allow the adjustment of the cleaning cycle based on the detected dirt to optimize the battery usage for the longer cleaning cycle.

When the iLoop sensor is red, you need to make more passes; when it is blue – your floor is clean. The auto/max mode button is also used to choose cleaning with only water or water with a cleaning solution (the default mode); you need to press this button for a couple of seconds to switch.

Voice prompts inform you about all maintenance procedures, problems, or cleaning modes of your cleaner. The LED screen also has corresponding pictograms. You can also monitor your Tineco performance using the Tineco app, where you will receive updates, guidance, and tips for better maintenance in real-time.

3 buttons / iLoop sensor/ app

Tineco S5 Pro 2 is a smart vacuum with the possibility for control by buttons or a smartphone app. The control buttons are located on the handle: self-cleaning button, auto/max/ultra/suction mode, and power on/off.

The digital LCD with interactive animation provides additional experience during and after the cleaning cycle. It shows the mode (separate animation for each mode), indicators of all the cleaner’s systems, and the progress of cleaning by changing the red circle to blue.

Additional smart features are voice prompts for informing about low battery, starting the charging cycle, switching to max mode and much more.

The auto mode of your vacuum cleaner allows sensors to detect all dirt and choose the best cleaning mode to prolong battery life. The smartphone application shows all statuses of your cleaner remotely in real-time as well.

Even though the control features of Tineco S5 and S5 Pro 2 are the same, there is one difference. The One Floor S5 Pro 2 model has a more advanced animated LCD screen, while the One Floor S5 has only an LED screen. So, Tineco S5 Pro 2 is the winner.

Assembly

Tineco S5 and S5 Pro 2 are delivered with disassembled handles (tube and handle) that you need to insert into the main body until you hear a click. If required, you need to disassemble the handle by releasing the spring in the handle with a screwdriver. No other assembling works are required. Before the first run, you need to charge the cleaner for 4-5 hours and fill the CWT with fresh water or freshwater plus solution.

verdict

There are no differences in assembly, so there is no winner.

Maintenance

Tineco stick vacuums require regular maintenance for optimal performance without odour. We summarized the recommendations in the table for both described models. All parts should be cleaned only with tap water or neutral detergents and completely dried in the air. For cleaning, you may use a cloth. Do not forget to store the vacuum cleaner in the charging base vertically, not in direct sunlight and indoors. Before dismounting all parts, the Tineco cleaner should be turned off.

Tineco S5 and S5 Pro 2 have a self-cleaning cycle to clean from internal clogs, and the brush roll from main dirt. To start the cycle, you need to fill the CWT for 40%, charge the battery for 10% and clean the DWT. Your cleaner additionally requests the self-cleaning cycle while charging when dirt sensors detect the dirt.

Verdict: The cleaning test of compared vacuums Tineco S5 vs. S5 Pro has shown only slightly better performance of the Pro 2 model, only because of additional modes. So, Tineco S5 Pro is the winner in this part.

Which Cordless Wet Dry Vacuum cleaner is better: Tineco S5 or Tineco S5 Pro?

Honestly speaking, there are no significant differences between Tineco S5 vs. Tineco S5 Pro. They have the same functionality: suction power, water flow, battery, working time, filter, assembled parts, dual tanks and brush roll. Tineco ONE Floor S5 Pro 2 has an advanced animated LCD screen and additional cleaning modes. You have seen in the cleaning tests that these features do not impact performance much, only on convenience in operation. So, you can save some money by choosing the Tineco S5 or the updated version of the Tineco S5 Pro 2.
