Roborock Q Revo vs. S7 MaxV Ultra, which is the best robot vacuum to buy? Is it the Q Revo or the S7 MaxV? If you are torn between the two, this is the place to be. Check out how they stack up against each other.
Roborock is undoubtedly one of the best robot vacuum brands. The Chinese company has asserted itself in the market with over a dozen models, including the Roborock Q Revo and Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The two share a lot in common. They are both 2-in-1 robot vacuum cleaners with innovative features that take floor and carpet cleaning to the next level. However, some differences should inform your purchase decision.
The main difference between Roborock S Revo and Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is the vacuuming performance, mopping performance, and navigation system. The Q Revo has higher suction and, ultimately, better vacuuming performance. However, it doesn’t offer the same level of mopping performance as the S7 MaxV Ultra, which uses Sonic Mopping Technology. Besides, it lacks a real-time camera, a feature the S7 MaxV Ultra boasts.
For more regarding how the two compare, read along.
Roborock Q Revo vs. S7 MaxV Ultra Face-to-Face Comparison Review
The Roborock Q Revo follows in the footsteps of the other Roborocks. It is a round-shaped robot vacuum with a compact, low-profile design allowing it to pass between tight spaces and under low-profile furniture.
The robot’s dimensions alone are 13.78×13.9×3.8-inches, and the weight is 10 lbs. As for the dock, it is also compact, measuring 13.4×19.1×22.1 inches, while the weight is 27.34 lbs.
We like the choice of premium-grade materials used in the construction. You can be guaranteed years of service amid all the hazards of using robot vacuums, from toppling off the stairs, hitting obstacles, and the tough claw marks of pets.
The Q Revo is available in 2 color options: black or white.
Like the Q Revo, the S7 MaxV is also a round-shaped robot vacuum. It maintains the compact and low profile design so it will still pass between tight spaces, such as chair legs, and go under low profile furniture, talk of coffee tables, sofas, and beds.
The robot’s dimensions are 13.78×13.9×3.8-inches while the weight is around 10 lbs. The dock station looks slightly different, with the tanks and bin canister shapes clearly visible.
The S7 MaxV dock measures 16.6×19.8×16.5-inches and weighs 27.5 lbs. Unlike the Q Revo, the S7 MaxV is available in a single color: black.
It also boasts excellent build quality guaranteeing durability.
There is no winner in this first round of this Roborock Q Revo vs. S7 MaxV Ultra comparison review. Both models have a low-profile design and robust build quality. However, if you are looking for a white model, the Q Revo fits the bill as it is available in white alongside black.
Roborock Q Revo is a versatile robot cleaner that can vacuum and mop. That means you don’t have to spend extra money on a dedicated robot mop.
When it comes to specialization, it is suitable for all hard floors, including hardwood, tile, linoleum, marble, laminate, vinyl, and so on. The Q Revo also packs a punch that makes it a reliable robot vacuum for carpets, both low pile carpets and high pile.
Last, the Q Revo is designed for short and long pet hair and other pet messes, such as kitty litter, wet paw marks, and urine stains.
The Roborock S7 MaxV is just as versatile as the Q Revo. It is also a robot vacuum and mop combo, so you can enjoy 2-in-1 cleaning without spending more money on a separate robot mop.
Regarding specialization, the S7 MaxV is suitable for all hard floors, including hardwood, tile, laminate, marble, vinyl, etc. It is also a good robot vacuum for carpets as it can handle low-pile and high-pile carpets effectively.
The S7 MaxV is also ideal for homes with pets. It can pick up pet hair and kitty litter and wipe away urine stains and paw marks.
Again, it is hard to call a winner as both models are 2-in-1 cleaners that vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also pack excellent suction for carpet vacuuming and can pick up pet hair and clean urine stains and paw marks, among other pet messes.
Like all robot vacuums, the Q Revo leverages a 3-stage cleaning system where dirt is agitated, lifted, and sucked into the bin.
At the core of a 3-stage cleaning system is a motor that delivers exceptional suction for deep vacuuming. Dubbed HyperForce, the Q Revo delivers 5,500Pa when firing on all cylinders.
The motor is multispeed, and there are 5 suction levels; Quiet, Balanced, Turbo, Max, and Max+. The Q Revo adds a cool feature dubbed Carpet Boost+ System that works like Roomba’s Carpet Boost. It detects carpets and automatically steps up suction.
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also deploys a 3-stage cleaning system. Dirt is first agitated, lifted, and sucked into the bin.
Under the hood, the S7 MaxV Ultra also packs a HyperForce motor that delivers a cool 5,100Pa in high-power mode.
The motor is also multispeed and has 5 adjustable suction levels.
Both Roborock vacuums deliver exceptional suction power. However, the Q Revo is the ultimate deal as it delivers higher suction power and features Carpet Boost+ technology, making carpet cleaning easier as you don't have to adjust suction manually. We tested the two using the common household dirt on a hardwood floor and a high pile carpet. Below are the results.
The Roborock Q Revo is a 2-in-1 robot cleaner that vacuums and mops. Roborock equipped the Q Revo with an 80ml electric water tank that dispenses water precisely for efficiency and expedited drying.
One interesting thing about this robot is that it automatically refills the onboard tank and empties the dirty water tank. The Multifunction docking station has a 5L clean water tank with enough water to clean up to 4,305 sqft. (400 sqm).
The Roborock Q Revo has two spinning mopping pads that rotate up to 200 times per minute, eliminating all kinds of embedded dirt and stains. Just to mention, the mopping pads are self-washing, so you won’t have to get your hands dirty washing them.
The mopping pads are also self-drying. Other features include an Ultrasonic Carpet Detection system and a Mop Lifting System, which prevent the robot from wetting carpets.
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is also a vacuum and mop combo. It features a larger 200Ml onboard electric water tank that dispenses water precisely for efficiency and fast drying.
Like the Q Revo, this is also a self-refilling and self-emptying cleaner. We have a clean water tank on the dock with a 3L capacity and a dirty water tank that can hold 2.5L.
When it comes to the actual mopping, Roborock engineered the S7 Max with Sonic Mopping Technology, a next-gen mopping system that beats the mopping head up to 3,000 cycles per minute for thorough cleaning.
Interestingly, you can set different mopping modes, including Light, Balanced, and Deep. To prevent the robot from wetting carpets, the S7 MaxV also comes with Ultrasonic Carpet Detection but with an addon dubbed VibraRise which, as the name suggests, lifts the mopping head when carpets are detected.
As far as mopping performance is concerned. The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is the best choice for two reasons. First, Sonic Mopping Technology delivers a better clean, especially when dealing with stubborn, sticky messes. Second, VibraRise is the surest way of ensuring the robot doesn't wet carpets. Below are the mopping test results.
Under the hood, the Q Revo packs a sophisticated navigation system based on the company’s proprietary technology, PreciSense LiDAR Navigation.
It leverages a Sensient Sensor Array to detect obstacles and avoid falling off the stairs. There’s also Reactive Tech Obstacle Avoidance which uses a 3D structured light and infrared imaging to recognize obstacles with precision.
With exceptional precision, it can detect and avoid wire cables, socks, shoes, headphones, poop, and other minute obstacles.
The Roborock S7 MaxV is also a great deal when it comes to navigation. It is equally suitable for high-traffic rooms as it also deploys PreciSense LiDAR Navigation.
The Sensient Sensor Array system detects and avoids obstacles with precision. The sensors are backed up by a revolutionary technology that leverages an RGB real-time camera that complements the ReactiveAI 2.0 Obstacle Avoidance.
The result is better navigation with fewer accidents.
As far as navigation is concerned, the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is the best choice. While the Q Revo does a great job, even in high-traffic rooms, the S7 MaxV Ultra is the perfect choice courtesy of the camera that enhances obstacle detection.
The Roborock Q Revo is a smart mapping robot vacuum. It boasts a 32-bit Quadcore processor that creates and saves up to 4 hyper-accurate maps of your home.
The robot also adds 3D Maps that give the robot a better understanding of your floor plan, furniture, and other households.
Other features include Cleaning Routines, Custom Cleaning, Automatic Room Recognition, Invisible Walls, No-Go Zones, and Zone Clean Up.
Regarding mapping, there is little difference between the Roborock Q Revo and Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is also a smart mapping robot vacuum that creates and saves up to 4 hyper-accurate maps of your home.
It also maintains 3D Mapping, Custom Cleaning, Custom Routines, Automatic Room Recognition, No-Go Zones, Zone Clean Up, and Invisible Walls.
Via the latest update (version number 02.58.40), the S7 MaxV gets new features, including; Cliff No-Go Zone, Entrapping Area Suggestion, Quick Clean Mode, and Clean Along Floor direction.
Here, the S7 MaxV is the best choice because of the new features that come with the new firmware version. But still, the Q Revo is a worthy choice as it will probably add the features soon via over-the-air upgrades.
The Q Revo doesn’t just vacuum and mop. It also keeps the atmosphere fresh. Under the hood, it packs a filtration system with an E11-rated washable filter that captures 95% of dust, pollen, and allergens that may trigger allergies or cause foul odor.
This filter is washable, so maintenance costs are down though you have to get a replacement after 3-4 months for optimal performance.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra also has a filtration system to ensure that allergens, dust, and pollen don’t bring discomfort to your home.
It also includes a washable E11-rated filter that captures 95% of allergens, dust, and pollen.
This round ends in a draw as the Q Revo and S7 MaxV Ultra both come with E11-rated washable filters.
One of the advantages of the Q Revo is that it is a robot vacuum with automatic self-emptying, so the maintenance requirements are lower.
It comes with an onboard 0.35 L bin that is emptied after every cleaning session or per your preference. The Multifunction dock has a larger canister with a 2.7L dustbag that can hold up to 7 weeks of dirt.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is also a self-emptying robot vacuum like the Q Revo. So you won’t have to stress over emptying the bin manually.
The onboard bin has a 0.4 L capacity. The only difference is that the S7 MaxV Ultra’s dust bag has a 2.5L capacity.
It is hard to call a winner here as both models have an onboard bin and are self-emptying robot vacuums. However, the Q Revo has a slight edge as its dustbag can hold more dirt than the S7 MaxV Ultra's.
The Q Revo, one of the latest Roborock models, comes with the all-new Roborock all-rubber brush designed for agitation and loosening embedded dirt.
The brush is also responsible for dirt lift-up. While it is excellent when it comes to picking up fine and large debris, it struggles to pick up pet hair on carpets.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra’s primary brush is complemented by a single spinning side brush that cleans the wall edges and deep corners where the main brush can’t reach.
Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra has a multi-directional floating all-rubber brush designed for agitation and dirt pickup.
It is also gentle on floors and tough on dirt, but when it comes to picking up pet air on carpets, it leaves a lot to be desired.
The main brush is assisted by a spinning side brush that reaches the wall edges and deep corners where the floating main brush can’t access.
This round has no winner, as the Roborock Q Revo and S7 MaxV Ultra come with the same brush system - a multi-directional floating all-rubber brush and a spinning side brush.
The Q Revo is a cordless vacuum cleaner that relies on a lithium-ion battery to power all electrical components. The 5,200 mAh lithium-ion battery has been optimized to offer up to 180 minutes of runtime when in Quiet mode. However, runtime drops as you step up to high power settings.
Regarding power management, the Q Revo is an intelligent robot vacuum with auto-recharge and resume capabilities. It docks for recharging once the battery level drops below 20%. The recharge time is 3 hours when the battery is at 20% and 4 hours when it is entirely flat.
There are two extras when it comes to autonomy. First is Top-Up Charging, which charges the robot up to 80% to finish cleaning, and Off-Peak Charging, which charges the robot 30% faster and ensures energy efficiency.
The S7 MaxV Ultra comes with a rechargeable battery. This is the same 5,200mAh lithium-ion battery that the Q Revo comes with. It also offers up to 180 minutes of runtime in Quiet mode, but of course, when you switch to high power modes, the runtime dips.
When it comes to power management, the S7 MaxV Ultra is still an intelligent robot vacuum that automatically recharges and resumes cleaning. It recharges when the battery gets below 20% and finishes the cleaning session once it hosts 80%. This is courtesy of the Top-Up Charging function.
Recharge time from 20% is 3 hours while from 0% is 4 hours. Like the Q REVO, the S7 MaxV Ultra also has Off-Peak Charging.
There is no winner in this round, as the two robot vacuums have the same 5,200mAh lithium-ion battery that offers up to 180 minutes of runtime. So, the round ends in a tie.
The Q Revo is a smart robot vacuum powered by 2.4GHz WiFi for app operation and voice assistant compatibility. You can control the robot and access all the features via the Roborock Home app available on iOS and Android platforms.
Besides, the Q Revo is compatible with voice assistants. Interestingly, you can use the built-in voice control or hook the Revo with Alexa or Google Assistant. The Q Revo supports over-the-air (OTA) upgrades.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is also an intelligent robot vacuum that works with 2.4GHz WiFi. With WiFi, you can pair and control the robot with your smartphone via the Roborock Home app (iOS or Android).
The other option is syncing it with Alexa or Google Assistant. Like the Revo, the S7 MaxV Ultra also has an inbuilt voice control function and supports over-the-air (OTA) upgrades.
This round ends in a draw as both robot vacuums are well-endowed when it comes to automation and smart features., You can set and customize cleaning schedules and even operate your robot vacuum remotely courtesy of 2.4GHz WiFi compatibility.
The Q Revo is a reliable vacuum cleaner built to last. Besides, the company offers a generous 1-year warranty, so you are eligible for free repairs or replacement if it develops a problem related to manufacturing.
This is as long as you adhere to all the terms and conditions of the warranty. In terms of support, we are glad there are plenty of Roborock resources, from video tutorials to manuals and user guides.
You can also contact the team at Roborock via telephone, email, or email ticketing system. Last, replacement parts and supplies are in plenty, from parts to supplies such as brushes, filters, and cleaning formulas.
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra is not different. It also guarantees years of service and comes with a 1-year warranty.
Support is also readily available on the company’s website help center, and besides, you can rely on tutorials and guides.
Another option is calling Roborock or dropping them a message via email or the email ticketing system. Like Q Revo, Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra replacement parts and supplies are available in plenty and at affordable prices.
Here again, it is hard to call a winner. Both models come with a 1-year warranty, support is available, and so are replacement parts and supplies. That said, the round ends in a draw.
The Roborock Q Revo comes with the following items:
- Roborock Q Revo Robot Vacuum Cleaner (1)
- Multifunctional Dock (1)
- Mop Cloth (2)
- Power Cable (1)
- User Manual (1)
The Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra comes with the following:
- Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra Robot Vacuum (1)
- Multifunctional Dock (1)
- VibraWash Mop Cloth (1)
- Power Cable (1)
- User Manual (1)
This round has no winner, as both Roborock vacuums come well-equipped. They come with the same accessories.

I came home yesterday, and my Q Revo did not work. I asked him to clean the flat from 2 pm to 5 pm, but he managed to clean only half and stopped under the table. I tried to connect to it with my phone, but the app still doesn’t see the docking station and the robot. I have been using this model for six months already, but this is something new. What should I do?
Richard Harrison
It looks like your docking station does not have a power connection, and the Roborock Q Revo has a low battery. Please try another socket for connection to the electric power; if this does not help, call the professional electrician to check the wiring. After you fix the problem with power, you need to manually bring the robot to the docking station. It should stay 4-5 hours until the full battery and new cleaning cycle.
Floyd
It is convenient to buy all accessories in advance, while you purchase everything together with the robot, you can get a good discount. What may you recommend for one-year flawless work?
Richard Harrison
There is a recommendation to change the main floating brush and side brushes once a year. Hepa filters and mop pads: I suggest changing at least 3-4 times yearly. So, you can purchase an accessories kit with all these parts together (starting from $23-25 on Amazon) or purchase everything separately.
Mathew
I don’t understand why Q Revo has a detachable base. Its docking station has a self-cleaning function during storage, which is why it is not cleaned by itself. Should I clean it every day?
Swartzcop Kennedy
You do not need to clean it after each cleaning cycle; during self-cleaning, the mop pads spin and scrub it, and all dirt should be removed automatically. But some may stay or some dirty drops. It is recommended to clean the base only once a month or if your robot cleans something sticky, smelly, and really dirty.
