Today, the company is best known for the Botvac D7 Connected that comes with Zone Cleaning and Manual Cleaning.

After the D7, the D6 Connected was released, and this often brings a dilemma. There seems to be a confusion on which is the best choice between Neato D7 vs. D6 Connected.

In this face to face comparison, we want to separate the wheat from the chaff, men from boys. If you aren’t sure which is the best model to go for, find out which is the best Neato in this review.

About Neato

Neato Robotics is an American robot vacuums brand and among iRobot’s main competition.

Headquartered in Newark California, Neato is a Private Subsidiary of Vorwerk & Co. Even though the brand was established in 2004, it was not until 2014 that it sold its first robot vacuum; the Neato XV series.

Today, the best Neato robot vacuum is the D7 Connected from the Botvac series which replaced the original Neato XV Series.

  • 3. Autonomy – The D6 Connected retains the same battery performance the D7 offers. They can both run for 120 minutes when in Eco mode and slightly lower in Turbo mode.

    They also support resume function and have QuickBoost. In terms of navigation, the D6 and D7 also share LaserSmart LIDAR Navigation Technology. The floor mapping system is also the same, and that explains the fact that they can both do 1292 sq. Ft. The two vacuums also support Extra Care Navigation, FindMe, Cleaning Summary, Coverage Maps, No-Go Lines, and Multiple Floor Plans.

  • 4. Smart connectivity – Neato D6 and D7 all support Smartphone app operation via the Neato Robotics Home App available for both iOS and Android platforms. They also work with Alexa, Assistant, Neato Chatbot for Facebook, Apple Watch, IFTTT, among other integration.

  • 1. A busy home – The Zone Cleaning function and manual Cleaning will help you customize your cleaning in a better fashion. You can clean specific areas of the house instead of vacuuming the entire house.
  • 2. Large apartment – The manual Cleaning allows you to remote control your Neato to where you want it to clean.
  • 3. Wi-Fi dead spots – The new 5GHz Wi-Fi band will solve connection issues but remember, its working range is lower than a 2.4GHz band.

Who should buy Neato D6 Connected

As for the D6 Connected, you will find it at a lower price. Buy this model if you have;

  • 1. Tight budget – The D6 Connected costs around $150 lesser on a normal day. Subscribe to our price drop alerts and get to know when the prices come down.
  • 2. Less busy home – The Zone Cleaning and Manual Cleaning extras are not worth the extra bucks for a bachelor or a less busy home.

Summary

This debate boils down to affordability and the three extras. For those who don’t find the extras worthy, the D6 Connected is the best Neato as it is cheaper. However, for those who find one or all the three extras to be worthy, the Neato D7 remains the best choice.
