ILIFE W400 vs W450 Face-to-Face Comparison
There is no difference between ILIFE W400 vs W450. They have the same patented circular shape with a square middle size where the main brush is installed; the exact dimensions and weight – 7.28 lbs. The grey handle on the top makes them accessible to move and handle. However, they both can climb obstacles with a height of fewer than 0.12 inches, and both are quite tall compared to other vacuuming robots, meaning they may not clean under all furniture.
Both cleaners are designed only for mopping, wet scrubbing, and floor washing of hard floor only – hardwood, tile, laminate. They are not suitable for mopping carpets or rugs. Besides, due to low suction power, they are not suitable for vacuuming surfaces, but they pick up liquid and some dust particles during mopping.
ILIFE W400 and W450 have small suction power, not enough to perform suction of fine particles. But this mainly does not impact the mopping performance. In worst cases of large spills, small puddles and wet spots may be left even after the drying mode. Before mopping, you need to vacuum the floor from debris.
W450 model shows better mopping performance for adamant and sticky stains with an equal mopping path in 8.75” as W400. In contrast, W400 is suitable for daily maintenance. In the smartphone application for W450, you also can choose mopping or drying mode. They both have four cleaning steps - spray, scrub, suction, and scrape. Additionally, W450 has adjustable water flow levels and mopping speed that could be set via the smartphone application.
Comparing ILIFE W400 vs W450, W450 is the winner. W400 with gyroscope navigation can move straight, back, and form patterns. While the W450, with gyroscope navigation and a camera on the top, can move in six-pass cycles with smarter navigation, it can also navigate in the dark. In addition, installed drop sensors prevent mop cleaners from falling the stairs and intelligent protection sensors from collisions with furniture.
Unfortunately, both mopping cleaners are not equipped with smart mapping to learn and remember the home layout for scheduling a future cleaning. But both can learn where rugs are located and avoid them after several cleaning cycles. No possibility to set no mopping areas even for the W450 model. W400 has at least four cleaning modes with different robot cleaning patterns: area, path, spot, and edge. In contrast, W450 has only three - path mode/ area mode/ and spot mode.
Both models of mopping robots have a small sponge filter in a dirty water tank. It does not capture dirt or allergens as HEPA filters for vacuum cleaners. The filter and the tank should be washed with running water and dried. After three months, the filter should be replaced.
W400 and W450 are equipped with the same washable microfiber roller main brush for sweeping and scrubbing the floor. It should be cleaned and dried after each use and replaced with a new one after three months (an extra one is included in the package). After the roller, sprayers are located to mist the water to clean them during the cleaning cycle. A smartphone application controls the roller rotation speed. The scrapper, after the roller, scrubs the floor to collect the remaining dirty water. The package includes a standard cleaning tool for dirty water tank cleaning.
Each robot ILIFE W400 and W450 have two separate tanks – for clean and dirty water. Separate tanks prevent clean water contamination. They can be quickly taken out and put back for cleaning. But unfortunately, you cannot open them; they only have a small inlet/outlet. An ILIFE cleaning solution could be added to a clean water tank for better performance. A dirty tank should be emptied and washed after each cleaning cycle. A clean water tank should be refilled before each use.
These mopping robots have the same Li-ion batteries, enough to work for 80 minutes depending on cleaning settings. The charging time is 3-4 hours, but the cleaners do not have an automatic return to the docking station; you should place them manually into plastic waterproof with a comfortable handle. These robots do not remember the location of the docking station. Robots inform with the voice alert about “Low battery” status. The docking station should be connected with 100-240VAC 50/60HZ 29W power.
One of the main differences of W400 is that you can’t control the robot with an application or use voice control. The remote control and a display panel on the robot perform the control. The display panel has a start/stop button, a voice alert, and a button to change cleaning modes. While, the W450 has a remote control as well, a display with mode and start/stop buttons, and can be connected to a smartphone application. An ILIFEHOME has a wide range of features: set number of cleaning and dry cycles during one cleaning cycle, brush speed, and water flow. Also, you can check the cleaning path. But the disadvantage is that W450 supports only 2.4G Wi-Fi, not 5G. Both models cannot be integrated into Alexa or Google Home, can’t be controlled by voice, but have voice alerts regarding the most critical problems.

Mopping Performance of tiles
Both mopping robot cleaners ensure excellent mopping functions, but W450 works slightly better. Their sensors and laser navigation help avoid carpets, stairs, and other obstacles and clean up the mess. The disadvantages of both cleaners are that they may leave some water because of low suction power and clean better laminate and wooden flows than tiles. Some unperfect cleaning also can be with old sticky stains.

Summary
ILIFE W450 is a better mopping cleaner if you need only this function from the robot. It is easy to maintain and has excellent performance on hard floors. The detailed mopping settings can be set in the smartphone application, whereas W400 does not have this function.
With better navigation and advanced mapping, W450 is the winner. But if you are searching for a budget model with simple control functions and similar performance, W400 is also a good option.
