Chinese vacuum brands have been disruptive on the market, with Roborock and Tineco at the forefront of the paradigm shift. The two brands are known for top-quality vacuums with the latest innovations at affordable prices compared to their Western counterparts. The Roborock Dyad and Tineco Floor ONE S5 are the best-selling models in the wet and dry segments. They boast state-of-the-art features and are quite similar, but the differences are profound.
The main difference between Roborock Dyad and Tineco S5 is the cleaning performance, runtime, and maintenance. Roborock offers better cleaning courtesy of the higher suction, a dual brushroll, and larger enhanced tank systems with a separate tank for the detergent. It also offers longer runtime and faster drying.

Roborock Dyad vs. Tineco S5 Face-to-Face Comparison Review
Roborock Dyad has the typical design of a wet and dry cordless vacuum from Tineco, Shark, or Bissell. It has been built from premium materials that guarantee durability.
There is the cleaning head, the main unit in the middle, and the handle. We like that the Dyad has a compact and lightweight design.
The dimensions are 12.2×10.6×43.7 inches, while the weight is 10 lbs. It is sleek and stylish, to say the least, and has a striking finish.
Tineco Floor ONE S5 also comes in the traditional cordless wet and dry vacuum design.
Like the Dyad, the S5 can take quite some abuse for years because of the robust build quality of high-grade materials. There is the cleaning head, the main unit housing the motor and dust cups, and the handle.
As far as design is concerned, the Tineco S5 is compact and lightweight. It measures 10.75 x 10.24 x 43.3 inches and weighs 9.92 lbs. It’s also sleek and stylish, like the Roborock Dyad.
It is hard to call a winner in this round as both vacuums come with compact and lightweight designs. They also boast excellent build quality, guaranteeing years of service.
The Roborock Dyad is a versatile cleaner that offers dry and wet vacuuming. It sucks up all kinds of debris, from small debris to large particles, including flour, sugar, coffee, pet hair, kitty litter, you name it.
It is also designed to handle dried-on, wet, sticky messes, from cooking oil drops and sauce to urine stains and grime.
Like your typical wet and dry vacuum, the Roborock Dyad is designed for hard floors, be it tile, linoleum, hardwood, marble, or ceramic. For the record, it is not designed for carpets.
We also like the Tineco S5 for its versatility. It is also a wet and dry vacuum that picks up all kinds of debris and tackles those sticky, wet messes.
You can rely on it to eliminate flour, sugar, rice, coffee, kitty litter, and even pet hair. It is also up to the task if you have spills and other sticky and wet messes, such as cooking oil drops, vinegar, honey, eggs, and urine stains.
The Roborock S5 is a hard floor cleaner for tile hardwood, linoleum, marble, and concrete floors, but it is not designed for carpets.
In this round again, it is hard to call a winner as Roborock Dyad and Tineco Floor ONE S5 are hard floor cleaners and can tackle dry and wet messes effectively. Besides, none is a carpet cleaner.
Roborock wet and dry vacuums, just like their robotic vacuum counterparts, boast excellent suction. The Dyad is powered by a powerful system dubbed DyadPower. It consists of a powerful motor that delivers super suction to suck up all kinds of debris, from fine dust to large debris.
The company says it can deliver a whopping 17,000Pa, which is impressive. One of the notable features of the system is the adaptive cleaning mechanism (DirtTect) that enables the cleaner to detect the amount of dirt and adjust suction accordingly. DirtTect ensures power efficiency and lowers operation noise considerably.
A brush system sweeps and agitates dirt before the vacuum sucks up the debris. Roborock calls it a DyadPower brush roller system and consists of 2 brushes that rotate in opposite directions for effective cleaning and preventing tangles.
Also worth mentioning is the innovative cleaning head design and brush roller placement that facilitates edge cleaning. Last, the Dyad Pro is equipped with a washable filter, but it’s worth mentioning that it is not a true HEPA filter.
Tineco is also a powerhouse in terms of suction power. Under the hood, it packs a powerful brushless motor that delivers excellent suction when firing on all cylinders. It delivers between 15AW and 30AW, around the same suction Roborock produces.
Like Roborock, there is no manual suction adjustment. Instead, the system boasts iLOOP Technology, the equivalent of Roborock’s DirtTect. It uses smart sensors to detect the amount of dirt and adjust suction accordingly.
Besides, it keeps operation noise down and enhances battery life. The S5 also comes with a single brush roller, unlike Roborock. Rotating at 450RPM, it offers excellent sweeping and agitation but is not as effective as Roborock’s DyadPower system, with 2 brush rollers spinning in opposite directions.
The cleaning head has also been optimized for enhanced edge cleaning. Lastly, on filtration, we are glad Tineco S5 comes with true-HEPA filters which are 99.97% efficient and filter down to 0.3 microns.
In this round, both models have advantage and advantages. The advantage of Roborock is slightly higher suction and a sophisticated brush system for better cleaning. On the other hand, Tineco is a great choice if you have allergies, courtesy of the true-HEPA filters. So, the choice is yours; better vacuuming performance or better air filtration?
The Roborock Dyad Pro is a reliable cleaner for those sticky, wet, and dried messes. It has a wet mopping system optimized to eradicate all messes on hard floors. As one of the latest wet/dry cleaners, it has a two-tank design.
One tank is for clean water and has a 0.9L capacity, while the other is a dirty water tank with a 0.77L capacity. The essence of the dual tank design is to ensure that you always clean with fresh water so no dirty streaks are left behind after the floor dries. There is also a small detergent tank where you can add a recommended hard floor cleaner.
To ensure efficient water and detergent usage, the Dyad Pro has a mechanism that relies on DirtTect Smart Sensor technology to sense the amount of wet mess and adjust the amount of water dispensed accordingly.
We also like the fact that the dual brush roller system scrubs dry messes and absorbs wet messes, effectively leaving your floor sparkling clean.
Tineco Floor ONE S5 is a reliable cleaner that eliminates all kinds of messes from hard floors, from stains and grime to wet messes. It is also one of the best wet and dry cleaners out there, as it has a dual tank design.
The clean water tank can hold 0.8 L, while the dirty water tank has a 0.7 L capacity. With Tineco, you also get to clean with fresh water only, so no streaks will be left after the floor dries.
One of the differences between Roborock Dyad Pro and Tineco S5 is that Tineco doesn’t come with a separate tank for the detergent. Instead, you add the detergent to the clean water tank.
But like Roborock, Tineco also has an intelligent system that controls water flow.
Dubbed iLOOP Smart Sensor Technology, it controls water flow depending on the kind of mess detected, thus enhancing efficiency and drying time. The roller brush and newly designed cleaning head ensure thorough coverage on the wall edges and along baseboards.
As far as mopping performance is concerned, both wet and dry vacuums excel. However, Roborock sounds like a better deal because of the larger clean and dirty water tanks and the fact that there’s a separate tank for adding the cleaning formula. Besides, the dual brushroll system (DyadPower Brushrolls) is better when dealing with bigger messes.
Roborock Dyad is a user-friendly vacmop. It comes in parts, but the assembly is painless. The hardest bit is perhaps attaching the handle and making sure it clicks. Maneuverability and handling are excellent.
The handle is ergonomic, and together with the lightweight design and two wheels, pushing and pulling it is effortless. Turning is also effortless, courtesy of the swivel cleaning head.
The controls are strategically located on the handle for easy access. Besides the button controls, the Roborock Dyad Pro comes with an intuitive display that shows you all the crucial data of the cleaner.
Besides, it is a smart wet-dry vacuum compatible with 2.4GHz WiFi for mobile operation via the Roborock Home App or voice assistants such as Alexa.
We also like the fact that the Tineco S5 is also a user-friendly vacuum mop combo. The assembly is also simple and should take a few minutes to get it ready.
Maneuverability and handling are also exceptional, courtesy of the ergonomic handle, lightweight design, and wheels that make pushing and pulling easy. Also worth mentioning is swivel steering for easy turning.
The positioning of the control buttons on the handle is also a clever idea for easy access. Like the Dyad, the S5 comes with an intuitive display so you can be in the loop of all crucial data regarding the cleaner’s operation.
This is also a smart cleaner powered by 2.4GHz WiFi for app operation and also supports voice updates.
It is hard to call a winner here as both cleaners are user-friendly. They also come with easy access buttons and allow for control remotely via the app or voice.
Roborock Dyad Pro is a cordless wet and dry vacuum, so you get the convenience of cordless cleaning. You are not limited in terms of reach, perhaps the cleaner’s runtime only.
It packs a powerful lithium-ion battery whose 5,000 mAh capacity can run it for a cool 45 minutes in low power mode, covering up to 300 sqm (3230 sqft). However, when DirtTect is firing on all cylinders, you get an average of 31 minutes.
When it comes to power management, you will have to dock the cleaner to recharge. Charging takes about 4 hours which might be very long if you had not completed cleaning, so getting an extra battery pack is an idea.
Tineco Flor ONE S5 is also a cordless vacuum cleaner, so you are not limited in terms of reach, but when it comes to runtime, you don’t get the convenience of continuous cleaning.
It comes with a lithium-ion battery but with a smaller capacity, 4,000mAh to be exact. The battery can power the wet and dry cleaner for 35 minutes in low-power mode and around 22 minutes when iLOOP steps up suction to the maximum.
You will also have to take care of charging once the battery is low. Recharge time is 3-4 hours.
Here, it is obvious the Roborock Dyad is the best choice. It comes with a larger 5,000mAh battery that offers up to 45 minutes of runtime, while the S5’s 4,000mAh battery can offer a maximum of 35 minutes.
The Roborock Dyad requires some maintenance. Before use, you should first charge the battery to avoid interruptions. The clean water tank should also be filled, and a detergent should be added to the detergent tank if necessary. After cleaning, you will also need to empty the dirty water tank.
The brush rollers don’t require cleaning as the unit is self-cleaning and has a feature that dries the brushrolls using direct hot air. Replace the brush rollers after 6-8 months, depending on wear and tear.
You should also consider cleaning the filter at least once a month and getting a replacement in 3-4 months, depending on wear and tear.
Tineco S5 is also a wet and dry cleaner that requires intensive maintenance. As a cordless cleaner, make sure to charge it before getting to work so the battery doesn’t go quiet in the middle of a cleaning session. You should also add fresh water and detergent to the clean water tank before starting a cleaning session and empty the dirty water tank after finishing.
Fortunately, you don’t have to worry about the brushroll as this is also a wet ad dry vacuuming with a self-cleaning system. After cleaning the brushroll, the S5 will dry it using centrifugal air drying.
Replace the brushroll after 6-8 months, depending on usage. You should also clean the filters at least once a month and replace them after 3-4 months.
It is hard to call a winner here as both models require maintenance. Besides, they all have self-cleaning mechanisms and systems that dry the brush rollers. However, Roborock takes the crown as direct hot air drying and dries the brush rollers faster than centrifugal drying.
Roborock’s Dyan Pro’s build quality is exceptional as it is a trusted Chinese brand.
Besides, the company offers a 1-year warranty on the Dyad, so in case it encounters a problem related to manufacturing in the first year of purchase, you can return it for repairs or replacement. Roborock does honor warranties as long as you adhere to the terms and conditions.
Support is readily available on the website, and the company has video tutorials and guides. When it comes to replacement parts and supplies such as brush rollers, filters, and cleaning formulas, they are in plenty and at affordable prices.
Tineco is also a Chinese brand but guarantees top-quality products, including the Floor ONE S5, that stand the test of time.
Besides, the company is generous enough to accompany the S5 with a 1-year warranty, so you are covered in the unlikely event your cleaner fails because of manufacturing defects. But make sure to read the terms and conditions so you don’t void the warranty.
Support, too, is available on the company website and several other channels, including manuals and tutorials. This is the same case for replacement parts and supplies.
Here, it is hard to call a winner, but from reviews, you will find that Roborock doesn’t have such a strict warranty as Tineco. But this shouldn’t be a reason to put down Tineco, as most reviews regarding return policies are biased. Most customers don’t admit they have voided the warranty.

I was on a long business trip, but Roborock Dyad Pro stayed in his charging station. I tried to do my regular maintenance! But after 5 minutes, it showed that the battery was low. What should I do?
Richard Harrison
The vacuum cleaner should not be left unused for a long time in the charging station. It was over-discharged, as it should not be charged more than once during three months. Please try to charge the battery to full, then use the cleaner again to empty the battery. Try several times. If it doesn’t work, and the battery capacity will not come back to 35-40 minutes, you need to buy a new battery.
Pam Shaw
Is the filter washable in Dyad Pro? Should I clean the filter after each cleaning? When I do a large clean, a 43-minute cycle is not enough; I need to use the cleaner again after the battery is recharged.
Swartzcop Kennedy
The filter is washable with tape water. You need to clean it when it is dirty; to check it, you need to take out the filter from the dirty water tank. You need to tap the filter to remove the residual water and, after that, let it dry for 24 hours at least until fully dry. If, during this time, you need to clean again, you need to use another filter.
