Robotic vacuum cleaners help homeowners in many ways – they save time and energy, they clean remote areas under the furniture, and they can be scheduled for regular cleaning. You can find models with different suction powers, the ability to mop simultaneously or after vacuuming, automatic emptying and cleaning, and many more. The list of robot features has already moved away from only vacuuming and extended to almost autonomous work for weeks.
Each manufacturer uniquely combines the most advanced features to make the choice of the best vacuum cleaner a tough job. In this article, we will dig into two eufy modes. Eufy is a subsidiary company of the Chinese Company Anker, and it is famous for its affordable and budget series of robots. We will compare all technical characteristics of eufy L60 vs. X8, including their cleaning performance, navigation, and filtration. We start from the main characteristics with essential features.
eufy L60 vs. X8 – Face-to-face comparison
The Eufy Clean L60 is a black, round-shaped robotic cleaner. The top lid has two buttons – the cleaning start/pause button and the recharge button. On the top lid in the middle is also located the 360-degree Lidar Navigation sensor.
In front of the robot, there is a bumper, and on the back are charging pins with a dust box release button. Below the bumper, there are three anti-drop sensors. To move around the home, the robot uses two rubber wheels and one swivel wheel.
Between the wheels, there is a rolling brush protected by a brush guard. To collect dust from angles, the robot uses a side plastic brush. The LED indications (white, red) show the current working more or an error. This model can cross barriers up to 20 mm in height.
The eufy Clean X8 Pro is a black round-shaped robot cleaner. It has three buttons on top – start/pause, recharge, and spot cleaning. The robot collects debris and dirt with a roller brush located in the middle on the bottom and protected with a brush guard.
To collect dirt from angles, there is one side brush on the right. To move around, the robot has two rubber wheels near a roller and one swivel wheel in front. The laser distance sensor (LDS) is located on the lid top in the center. In front, the robot has a bumper to soften all crashes with obstacles and furniture; on the back, there is a ventilation hole and charging contact pins.
There are also four anti-drop sensors to prevent falls from stairs and steps, and the robot can cross only 19 mm of barriers. It also has infrared obstacle avoidance sensors. There are also some LED indicators to provide the current status.
There is no significant difference in the appearance of the two models. The only ones are that the Eufy X8 has three control buttons on the lid and one more anti-drop sensor. But L60 can climb 20 mm barriers, not 19 mm as X8. We can’t call the winner in this round.
The Eufy L60 is ideal for pet floors and pet hair, but it can only vacuum floors and carpets. In the smartphone eufy Clean app, you can use BoostIQ mode with increased suction power, which is especially ideal for cleaning carpets and hard messes.
It also automatically increases suction where needed. This robot has four suction levels to choose from in the app – Quiet, Standards (default), Turbo, and Max. For this model, there are three available cleaning modes – auto, zone, and room.
The Eufy X8 has several modes: vacuum only for carpets and hard floors and vacuum and mop for hard floors. For carpets in the app, you can set the BoostIQ mode to increase suction power, but the power consumption will be increased accordingly.
This mode also increases suction power automatically when it is required. You can also select the suction power levels for the hard floor: Quiet, Standard (default), Turbo, and Max. Once you set the mode for the area/room, in the next run, the robot will use the same settings.
The eufy X8 has a mopping function, which L60 does not have. But there are no other differences in the suction capabilities. So, the eufy X8 is the winner in this part of the comparison.
The L60 has no mopping feature; no mopping pads come with this model.
The X8 Pro mopping module should be installed only for mopping hard floors; it should not be installed for mopping carpets. You should wet the mopping pad with excess water.
On carpets, no-mop/no-go zones or virtual walls should be set as the robot does not have the carpet recognition function. The water tank has three water levels that are set by the app; the mopping pressure is 0.6kg. The mopping cloth is hand and machine-washable.
As the L60 does not have a mopping feature, the X8 Pro with a mopping cloth is the winner in this round.
The eufy L60 has ultra-strong suction power – 5000 Pa. It removes hair, debris, dirt, and crumbs in one run. It has 250% more suction power than the previous model, G10 (2000 Pa). Such suction power is good for cleaning hard floors and carpets.
The eufy X8 Pro is a new model with twin-turbine suction to remove hair and debris from hard floors and carpets. Twin-turbine technology 2.0 ensures 80% more airflow and almost two times better cleaning than single-turbine robots. For a better collection of debris at once and better airflow, the X8 Pro also has an expanded air duct.
The eufy X8 Pro has higher suction power, so in the comparison eufy L60 vs. x8, the x8 model is the winner.
With the first run in auto mode, the eufy L60 automatically and accurately scans the home and creates visual maps in the app (for 15 minutes); with new runs, it starts automatically updating maps and determining the cleaning route.
It cleans in Z-shaped cleaning patterns until the cleaning zone is totally clean. The robot can do multiple floor mapping using Laser navigation and AI.Map 2.0 but does not see small objects, such as power cords or socks.
Even though this model has anti-drop sensors and infrared obstacle sensors, you should set “no-go zones” on staircases, air vents, and high-pile carpets to prevent damage to the robot vacuum.
The eufy X8 Pro cleans the floor and carpets in neat rows (Z-shaped cleaning path). To start mapping the robot, you need to select “quick mapping” in the app while the robot is in the charging base.
You need to open all doors to access the robot and all rooms you want to clean. The charging base should remain in place during the mapping process.
The mapping is performed without cleaning, and the result is immediately available in the app using customizable AI.Map 2.0 technology. To map the home, it uses Precise iPath Laser Navigation. It helps to track cleaning routes and avoid obstacles.
There is no difference in navigation and mapping of these models. There is no winner in this round.
Under the lid of eufy L60 is located the dustbin with a HEPA filter. The filter assembly consists of a washable filter, washable sponge (pre-filter), mesh, and filter bracket. The HEPA filter captures up to 99.5% of particles.
The filter assembly of the eufy X8 Pro is located inside the dust box. The assembly consists of a HEPA filter that captures up to 99.5% of all dust, dirt, particles, and ABS plastic. The filter assembly ensures that there will be no dust leakage.
We call the L60 the winner, as it has the black sponge that works as a pre-filter.
The eufy L60 has a one-side brush for cleaning edges with three plastic bunches located 120 degrees to each other. The main roller brush with several lines of bristles is protected with a brush guard.
To remove tangled hair from brushes, you may use the cleaning tool. The main brush has no technologies to prevent wrapping, so you need to clean it manually after each run.
To clean the side brush, you need to use a screwdriver. We recommend cleaning a brush rubber strip installed on the brush guard from time to time.
The eufy X8 Pro is equipped with a tangle-free patented roller brush, which is detangled automatically.
For active detangling, the roller brush automatically changes from reverse rotation to forward rotation. In reverse mode, it detangles hair; in forward mode, it picks up hair.
The brush effortlessly removes hair from the high-pile deep carpets. To clean the main and side brushes from tangled hair, you may use a cleaning tool from the package.
Obviously, the X8 Pro is the winner, as it has a tangle-free brush that rotates in different directions to prevent tangling.
The eufy L60 has only one dust bin located in front. To remove it for cleaning, you need to press the buttons on the left and right sides. The dust bin has a lid with a filter and pre-filter to simplify cleaning.
The eufy X8 Pro has a built-in dustbin and a water tank. The access to the dustbin is from the top lid, while the water tank is from the bottom. It is not recommended to use any other eufy cleaning solutions, as they can damage the device. Both tanks are plastic and easy to maintain.
We can’t call the winner in this round, as the eufy L60 has a larger dust bin but does not have a water tank. So, there are pros and cons of each model.
The eufy L60 is equipped with a middle-capacity replaceable battery. The RoboVac returns automatically to the charging station to recharge when it has finished cleaning or when cleaning is not complete with a low battery. At 80% battery capacity, it will continue cleaning.
The eufy X8 automatically returns to the charging station when the battery level is low. If you set the resume function in the app, the robot will resume and finish the cleaning after it is charged to 80% of the battery capacity.
The longer runtime of the X8 is ensured by the higher-capacity battery, so it is the winner.
The eufy L60 comes with a small charging station with a power cord. On the bottom, it has two sticky strips to prevent the station from moving. It should be installed on a hard, leveled surface with easy access to the robot vacuum.
From the left and right sides, the distance to other objects should be at least 0.5m; on the back should be a wall, and in front, the free distance is 1.5 m.
The station should not be placed near the staircase; it should be located near the electrical socket and always plugged in. If you turn it off or move, the robot will not move to the charging station.
The eufy X8 Pro has a small charging base to charge the battery; it is connected to the socket with a power adapter from the package. To protect the hard floors from direct contact with the wet mopping module with the floor, we recommend installing a waterproof pad near the charging base.
To install it, you need to remove stickers from the bottom of the pad and attach it to the floor. The station should be installed in an easy-access area on a level surface. There should be no obstacles on the left and right (0.5 m) and 1.5 m in front.
When the charging base is connected to the electricity, you will see a white LED indicator (status light); when the robot is charging, its three buttons on top are flashing with a white light.
The charging stations of the two models have no additional features such as auto-emptying technology or mopping pad cleaning, so there is no winner in this part of the comparison of L60 vs. X8.
The eufy L60 is controlled in two ways – using two buttons on the lid or a smartphone app. The buttons are used to turn it off/on, reset the Wi-Fi connection, return to the docking station, pause/start, and disable and enable the Child Lock.
To choose cleaning modes, suction power levels, schedule cleanings, or choose a room/area for cleaning, you need to use the smartphone app. Moreover, virtual walls and no-go zones may be set only in the app. If you lose your robot, you may use the function “Find my Robot” in the app to find it.
The L60 is also compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control. The robot talks to you as well; it provides voice alerts when it turns on, comes to the charging station, requires some assistance, and more.
The eufy X8 Pro can be controlled from the buttons on the top and the eufy Clean app from the App Store. The robot should be connected to 2.4 Hz Wi-Fi. In the app, you can create maps and select rooms or zones for cleaning. One or more rectangular areas of any size can be set in the application.
You can adjust the suction power and mopping water volume in the app as well. For all rooms, you can set automatic or customized cleaning modes. For all app users, is available scheduling, setting of cleaning time, repetition cycle, and return to cleaning after charging.
From smart features, there is also a do-not-disturb function (no auto-return cleaning at a specific time), child lock, and activity log upload. You can use Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant to control the Robovac, but you need to have Amazon Alexa-enabled devices.
There is no difference in smart features and control possibilities for these models. Again, there is no winner.

The eufy Clean X8 Pro comes with:
- Robot Vacuum
- Mopping module

- Set “no-go zones”, “no-mop zones” (only for the X8), or “virtual walls” via the app or place physical barriers where you do not want to make the vacuuming, near the stairs or on high-pile rugs or carpets (thicker than 1.02 inches or 26 mm).
- Remove large water spills.
- Start cleaning process.
verdictThere is no winner in this round; the sequence of actions is the same.
Maintenance
The eufy X8 and L60 should be cleaned and maintained as any other vacuum cleaner. Before any operation with the cleaner, you need to power it off. For cleaning, you should use tap water; before cleaning, you need to tap the dust out. After cleaning, all parts should be completely dried. To clean the filter, you should not use chemicals, hot water, or brushes.

The best performance was shown by the Eufy X8 Pro because of its higher suction power, higher suction door, and advanced main brush. Also, on sticky messes, it performs better using the mopping module. On carpets, the performance of these cleaners is not significant. Nevertheless, the eufy X8 Pro is the winner in this round.

Which Robot Vacuum cleaner is better: Eufy L60 or X8?
Our detailed comparison of eufy L60 vs. X8 has shown that both robotic cleaners are top-quality models. The eufy X8 Pro is the winner because of the better performance, higher suction power, advanced main brush, higher battery capacity and runtime, and ability to mop hard floors. But this model is more than twice as expensive as the budget L60 model. But it has the same navigation, mapping, control smart features, and even larger dust bin. So, if you need a model with powerful suction for vacuuming only hard floors and carpets, the Eufy L60 is definitely recommended.
