For the last five years, robotic vacuum cleaners have been in most homes. Most owners started from simple budget models with minimum smart features, such as vacuuming floors, but now cleaners are much more advanced. The modern models can combine vacuum and mop, obtain charging stations that can clean and refill robots to proceed with autonomous cleaning further, propose smart schedules, and clean while you are away. However, it is not easy to find the best proposed robotic cleaner, as the competition in the market is very high.
Even though Roborock has been on the market only for the last ten years, it offers high-tech models with different prices and functionalities. I want to check more closely the models that recently appeared – Roborock Q Revo vs. Q Revo MaxV. I took the basic models only with a robot and docking station, but there are several options- bundles with attractive prices with replaceable rubber main brush, filter, or mopping pads. After you have decided which model to purchase, I recommend buying bundles, as you need spare parts for regular bundles anyway. For the advantages of each model, please check the comparison further.
Roborock Q Revo vs. Q Revo MaxV – Face-to-Face Comparison
Roborock Q Revo is a standard black, almost round robotic cleaner with some golden accents and a LIDAR sensor on the top. For protection of the robot, it has a bumper with a camera in the middle.
Near the camera, there is an obstacle recognition sensor, LED Fill Light, and Microphones. Under the camera is the location of a self-filling port. Two wheels and an omnidirectional wheel on the bottom ensure moving around the home.
The main brush and wheels are scratch-safe; you have to be sure that the floor can’t be damaged during cleaning. It has two buttons on the top – power/clean and dock. The clean button can be used for one-time cleaning in auto-mode. The Q Revo is available in black and white.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV is a round-shaped robotic vacuum cleaner with a Lidar sensor in the middle of the top lid.
It has a protective bumper in front of the robot, with the camera and sensors in the middle. In the top lid, there is a special half part for opening and extracting the dust bin. For control near the bumper side, two buttons are located – home and power/clean.
The buttons are used to quickly control the robot from the docking station. Moving around the home uses wheels and an omnidirectional wheel. The robot is available only in white color.
The difference between the two Q Revo models is in color and height. The Q Revo is thinner and lighter than the Q Revo maxV, which could be essential for cleaning under low-profile furniture. Because of this, I call the Roborock Q Revo the winner.
Roborock Q Revo has three cleaning modes: vacuum or mop and simultaneous vacuum and mop. In the auto mode, the robot simultaneously vacuums and mops.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV has three cleaning modes – simultaneous mop and vacuum (auto mode), separate vacuum and mop. You can also start the fast cleaning (35% faster than standard mode).
The two vacuum cleaners' cleaning modes are the same. I can’t state the winner in this part of the comparison: Roborock Q Revo vs. Q Revo MaxV.
Roborock Q Revo mops have dual liftable spinning mops. They spin in opposite directions at a speed of 200 RPM and a constant pressure of 6 N down the floor to remove stains.
The robot detects the carpet with sensors and raises the pad by 0.3” to prevent wetting. The mopping pads consist of mopping plates and cloth. The plates are easily pulled in and out using hexagon connectors.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV for mopping uses dual mopping pads. One of the mopping pads is designed with a flex arm to mop edges. Such design ensures 98.8% edge coverage and 1.85 mm up to edges.
The rotating speed of two mopping pads is 200 rpm. On carpets, only vacuum mode and drying the mops are lifted on 0.4”; during mopping, the main brush is lifted, and in the docking station, the brush and the mopping pads are lifted.
Obviously, Roborock Q Revo MaxV is the winner. These robots have the same rotating mopping pads, but only Q Revo MaxV has an extended mopping pad and is lifted higher.
Roborock Q Revo has powerful suction at 5500 Pa to pick up dirt and dust. The app allows you to adjust the suction power for silent, balanced, turbo, and max levels.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV has a HyperForce 7000 Pa suction. It automatically detects carpets to boost suction power and cleans them twice for maximum cleanliness.
Again, I call Roborock Q Revo MaxV the winner because of the higher suction power.
Roborock Q Revo successfully detects and avoids all obstacles and potential hazards using the camera in front. It uses precise LiDAR navigation and numerous sensors for communication, carpets, obstacles, etc.
During the first run, the robot creates detailed home maps six times faster than other robots and finds optimal routes for cleaning. All maps are displayed in 3D, and multi-level support is available.
While the robot cleans, it scans the home in real time and builds adaptive route algorithms. You can choose from two types of routes – standard and fast- cleaning.
Unfortunately, I have to add that obstacle detection is not a good side of the robot; I recommend not leaving cables and small objects on the cleaning path.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV has advanced obstacle recognition features in real-time day or night; it uses structured light and an RGB camera to recognize one of the 52 types of objects from its memory (20 categories).
Moreover, it can recognize the floor type and room to recommend smart cleaning modes or no-go zones. When the robot approaches your pets (if any), it stops the main brush and mode aside.
LiDAR based navigation helps to create detailed 3D maps six times faster and creates optimal routes on multi-level floors.
Adaptive route algorithms ensure optimal cleaning routes and minimum cleaning time. Using dirt detection sensors on the robot, the robot will pass the dirtiest spot again and increase its scrubbing activity and suction power.
Based on my tests, Roborock Q Revo MaxV's obstacle recognition system is more efficient. The other parameters are the same, so Q Revo MaxV is the winner in this regard.
The Q Revo robot is equipped with a washable E11-rated air filter. It traps up to 90% dust, dander, pollen, and mold particles (ISO 15) and up to 95% particles (ISO 20). No tools are required for cleaning; only tap water is required.
The Q Revo MaxV has a washable filter in the dustbin. The filter is made from air-coated Teflon for long-lasting filtration. It is sealed tightly to keep the powerful suction.
Both robots are equipped with the same washable filter. There is no winner.
The Q Revo has a red all-rubber brush with rubber fins designed to escape tangled hair, ensuring maximum cleaning efficiency. This brush is especially good for cleaning homes with pets. One side brush is flexible and has plastic bristles in three directions. The side brush is standard with bristles from durable nylon in three directions.
The Q Revo MaxV has a red floating rubber brush with fins. To prevent tangling, it has rubber fins and an angle. It has a multi-angled swivel feature. The brush is easily detachable and protected with a guard, ensuring long service life. It effectively captures dirt and dust by contacting the hard floor and carpets. The side brush is white with white nylon bristles.
As in the previous point, the Q Revo and Q Revo MaxV have the same side and main brushes. The only color difference is in the side brushes, but the parts are easily replicable within models.
Roborock Q Revo has a separate washable dustbin with a filter (350 ml) and a water tank (80 ml). The water tank has an electric pump to offer four water levels and is built-in; you can’t extract it. To access the dustbin, you need to remove the top cover. The dustbin has two openings—one for more airflow and another for dust extraction.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV has a built-in water tank (80 ml) and a dustbin (330 ml). The water tank is equipped with an electric pump and has thirty levels of water flow. The dustbin can be pulled out from the top for cleaning.
Roborock Q Revo is the winner in this round as it has a larger dustbin, the same size as a water tank of Q Revo MaxV.
Roborock Q Revo has one 14.4 V/5200 mAh (TYP) lithium-ion battery. The full charging time is about four times. The maximum runtime in balanced mode is 180 minutes; in deeper clean mode (turbo and max), the robot works less.
When the battery charge drops to 15%, the Q Revo automatically returns to the docking station for charging and further will resume.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV works from a 14.4 V / 5200 mAh (TYP) Li-ion battery. The charging time is approximately 4 hours. The battery ensures 180 minutes in balanced mode.
The battery is charged 30% faster than other models. You can also set the charging to off-peak hours. If the battery is low, the robot automatically returns to the docking station.
The Q Revo and the Q Revo MaxV have the same battery; again, there is no winner.
The Q Revo has a multifunctional dock. It cleans the robot to keep it always clean; for manual maintenance, the base is detachable. When the robot arrives at the station for charging (30% faster charging and also in off-peak hours), it automatically emptied, the dust can be stored for up to 7 weeks in the dust bag (2.7 L), and the mopping pads are washed and dried (113 F).
During cleaning, the mopping pads spin and scrub along the dock base. The robot’s water tank is automatically refilled; the capacity of the refilling clean water tank is 5 L – to clean up to 400 sqm. The left water tank is a clean water tank; the right water tank is a dirty water tank (4.2 L).
During dust suction, the station reaches 77.6 dBa, while the robot in quiet modes has 60 dBA and in maximum mode – 67 dBA.
The Q Revo MaxV has a multifunctional docking station 2.0. The robot performs dust auto emptying and storage in a dust bag (2.7 L) for seven weeks, washing and drying pads with warm water (140 F) and warm air.
Using intelligent Dirt Detection sensors, the pads will be re-washed and re-dried if necessary. The base is detachable, so it can be removed for manual cleaning.
During charging, the robot is also refilled from the Clean Water Tank (4 L). For manual cleaning at the docking station, a base is detachable. In the balanced mode, the robot words have 63 dBa. The dirty water tank is located on the left, while the clean water tank is on the right.
The functionality of docking stations of these Roborock models is close; the Q Revo MaxV has only an additional feature of dirt detection on mopping pads for effective cleaning.
The Q Revo robot has numerous control options – voice control, a smartphone app, and buttons on the robot. The popular voice assistant allows you to start the cleaning with your voice.
In the smartphone app, you can set no-go zones based on the app suggestions or manually; also, there, you can set cleaning routines for specific rooms and zones of the whole home.
All cleaning cycles and time can be tracked, and the robot’s health can be checked in the app. The robot supports only 2.4G WiFi, 100 V – 120 V.
The Q Revo MaxV can be controlled by push buttons on the robot, popular voice assistants or intelligent built-in Voice Assistant (Hello Rocky), Apple Watch, and smartphone app.
Using remote control devices (the app and voice assistance), you can start and pause cleaning, specify rooms or zones for cleaning, adjust cleaning modes, auto dust emptying, or wash pads.
Moreover, you can make video calls and have a two-way interaction with your pets. Only in the smartphone app can you set cleaning schedules. The robot can be connected only to 2.4 G WiFi.
Roborock Q Revo MaxV has more control options and smart features, so it is again the winner in this part of the comparison.

The two Roborock models' performance is close, but we want to highlight the Roborock Q Revo MaxV, which was slightly better. So, it is a winner.
Which Robot Vacuum Cleaner is Better: Robrock Q Revo or Q Revo MaxV?
From my comparison of Robrock Q Revo vs. Q Revo Max, it is obvious that the Q Revo Max wins. It has higher suction power, an extended mopping pad, a more functional docking station, and smart features. But if you want to save some money, keep an eye on Q Revo, as it is close in performance and has the same battery, filter, and even larger dustbin.
