Upright cordless cleaners are one of the best solutions for quick vacuuming and mopping of all types of floors. You can grab an always-ready cleaner from the charging station and clean not only the floor but also upholstery, curtains, and many more. The market offers models from Roborock, Hoover, Tineco, Dyson, Shark, and many others with different functionality. I like the models that can be transferred into handheld models, allowing them to be used for car interior cleaning. Another feature handful for convenient maintenance is a self-cleaning charging station that can automatically clean the brush after each cleaning cycle and keep it fresh. Roborock produces not only intelligent robotic vacuum cleaners, which I have reviewed in numerous articles, but also the Dyad and Flexi series of upright vacuum cleaners.
Roborock Flexi vs. Dyad – Face-to-Face comparison
The attractive price of these models and the self-cleaning and drying system grab my attention. I decided to compare Flexi Wet Dry Vacuum and Dyad Pro Wet Dry Vacuum Cleaners to understand which series is better and why. My results are presented, as always, one by one in numerous tables and accompanied by explanations.

Roborock Flexi and Dyad Pro vacuum cleaners are upright vacuum cleaners consisting of two tanks – clean and dirty water tanks. The Flexi model has tanks located on both sides of the cleaner, while the Dyad Pro has tanks on both sides – one below the other. The Flexi can stand in an upright position while cleaning, and the ergonomic handle with LED display and control buttons are located. The Dyad Pro can also stand, but the LED display is located on the top of the clean tank, and in the handle, there are only three buttons (self-clean, change mode, and power). The cleaners stand on the roller brush/brushes protected with a cover – all together is a cleaning head. To move the rollers, use two large plastic wheels on both sides.
The Flexi cleaning head has a 180-degree flat reach design to clean below low-profile furniture, but unfortunately, this Flexi model does not have an LED headlight – it could clean even if the height of the furniture is 6 inches. If you need LED lights on the head cover, you can purchase a Flexi Pro model.
The Dyad Pro cleaning head is agile, with counter-rotating rollers to clean around 80 degrees. Two automatic adaptive wheels ensure quick movement and adjustment to the roller’s speed. From the design point of view, I prefer the Flexi model more, as it is more elegant. The flat design is the big advantage of this model.

I am disappointed with the limited functionality of Roborock Flexi and Dyad Pro – they have only simultaneous vacuum and mop modes. So, they can clean only different types of hard floors – hardwoods, tiles, bare floors, ceramic, sealed wood, vinyl, or laminate. You can’t use them on rugs or carpets. Nevertheless, Roborock Flexi has several cleaning modes, such as ECO, MAX, and AUTO. Roborock Dyad Pro has one additional mode – Floor Drying mode. In this mode, the excess water from the floor can be removed, but you can use it only if the water height does not exceed 0.4 inches. This mode works for 1 minute; after that, the Dyad Pro will automatically switch to Auto mode. In auto mode, the suction power and water level are adjustable from the dirt sensor to remove all stains easily. The robots pick up dirt, debris, and oil stains in all directions. They come to the edges in the distance up to 1 mm on both sides.

There is no difference in the suction power of Roborock Flexi vs. Dyad – 17.000 Pa. This strong suction power helps completely eliminate wet and dry messes within seconds. While the robot is cleaning, the water is constantly added to the rolling brushes, making them always clean. As the Dyad Pro has a set of brushes and they scrub each other during the cleaning cycle, they are self-cleaned better. That is one of the main reasons for the better performance of the Dyad Pro model, according to my tests and experience.
Filtration

There is no significant difference between the filtration system of Roborock Flexi vs. Dyad as well. The core element of this system is a washable HEPA filter. It is installed on the inlet of the dirty tank. You can remove dirt or trash from the filter with a maintenance brush or rinse it with cold water. Before the next usage, the filter should be fully dry. The filter consists of multi-layered, effective air-coated Teflon within the plastic frame for long-lasting filtration. The filters for both models have different sizes; please consider that when buying replacement parts. But both can successfully filter pollen, dust, debris, and other fine particles and keep the air in your home clean. I saw more advanced filtration systems for upright vacuums, but this one still is not bad.

The main difference between Roborock Flexi vs. Dyad is the number of roller brushes. In the Flexi model, there is one brush; in the Dyad Pro, there are two brushes. But the construction is the same – plastic core covered with microfiber cloth. Dyad Pro has one roller with the same length as the Flexi model and two smaller ones installed nearby. Two rows of brushes are rotated in opposite directions to ensure better picking-up ability and decrease hair tangling. Flexi and Dyad Pro roller brushes are easily removable using the release buttons on both sides of the cover. A maintenance brush is included in the package for regular manual cleaning of the vacuum. For its storage, a groove in the charging dock is foreseen. Fresh water is also used for cleaning. Obviously, I suggest Dyad Pro, as two brushes clean better than one. If you are missing some tools or accessories, I recommend checking Dyad Pro Combo to obtain a vacuum cleaner for all needs. One additional feature that the Dyad model has (that you may consider useful, I could not use it) is an adjustable brush cover.

The reviewed models have clean and dirty water tanks, and the Flexi model has significantly less volume of tanks, but which is still enough to clean during battery life. For cleaning, Roborock models recommend using only cold water with additions (if required) and only recommended detergents or disinfectants. In the Dyad model, there is a special location for the detergent cartridge, which you need to fill from time to time. The clean water tank should be filled up to the MAX line. If the dirty water tank is full or the clean water tank is empty, you will receive audio and visual alerts.

The charging station of the Flexi and Dyad models represents the plastic base station for the upright installation of the robot. It is connected with a power cord. It automatically ensures that the brush is always ready for the next round. When you place the vacuum cleaner for charging, you need to press the self-cleaning button to start the cleaning process using hot water. A long press of the self-cleaning button leads to the deep self-cleaning mode. Surprisingly, Roborock Flexi is more advanced and provides many options for self-cleaning. You may choose the temperature for the self-cleaning process in the app – hot, warm, or room temperature. The self-cleaning process can be started only if the battery level is above 20%. The smart sensors control the cleaning process and repeat it if necessary.
The drying process is identical for both models. After the self-cleaning process, the automatic self-drying process is started for 30 minutes to remove all odors. You can also start self-drying manually by pressing the power button in the docking station or using the smartphone app. Do not forget to clean the base station regularly with a soft cloth, and after the self-cleaning process, you need to clean the dirty water tank.

Roborock Flexi and Dyad are automatically charged in the locked position. From one single charge, the Flexi’s battery can work for 50 minutes, which is enough to clean up to 4520 sqft, while the Dyad Pro works only 43 minutes and covers only 3230 sq ft. I suggest choosing the vacuum cleaner based on your floor surface.

The control features of these models are different. Roborock Dyad Pro has buttons on the handle and an information LED screen, while the LED screen of the Flexi model is the main control unit of the cleaner. On the screen, all necessary information about the cleaning cycle is available: dirt level, cleaning mode (AUTO, MAX, ECO, or Drying mode if applicable), battery level, charging or drying status, and any errors. You may use home Wi-Fi to connect your Roborock vacuum with the smartphone app. The cleaning head can be automatically locked by tapping one side of the cleaning head. The vacuum cleaner does not work while it is locked.

Upright vacuum cleaners are manual cleaners with minimum automation and smart features. Only minimum features are available, mainly cleaning reports and self-cleaning settings, which can be adjusted and reviewed in the smartphone application. I can’t say that I miss some features; they are essential to the vacuum cleaner’s performance.

Tests
Vacuuming and mopping performance on bare floors
I have tried Roborock Flexi and Dyad Pro on carpets, and thanks to their high suction power, the carpets are almost dry after cleaning. However, Flex and Dyad are still not recommended for cleaning carpets. So, in this section, I provided only results on the bare floor.

Setting up the vacuum cleaners
The procedure of setting up the Roborock upright vacuums Flexi and Dyad is similar. You need to unpack the vacuum and remove all transportation materials. The vacuum is delivered partly disassembled, so you need to insert the handle in place, and the LED screen should face forward. If required, you can disassemble the handle, placing the hard object in the hole on the back of the vacuum body. Further, you need to place the charging dock on the hard surface and plug it into the socket. The vacuum is installed in an upright position in the charging station and can stay there without support. Before starting the cleaning cycle, do not forget to fill the clean water tank. If you want to access all features, you may install the Roborock app and connect to your vacuum cleaner. After charging, the cleaners are ready to do wet and dry cleaning.
Maintenance
As with any other vacuum cleaners, Roborock Flexi and Dyad Pro vacuum cleaners require regular maintenance per the table below. I have made it based on my personal experience and Roborock instructions. Nevertheless, if you see that the piece is worn or torn, you need to replace it immediately to prevent serious damage. If you do not use the cleaner for a couple of weeks or months, before the next use, you need to fully charge it. The cleaning should be performed with a soft and dry cloth.
My conclusions
After I had made a detailed comparison of Roborock Flexi vs. Dyad, I found that both models have pros and cons. Dyad Pro has more brushes and better control with buttons on the handle, while Flexi has a longer working time and touchscreen button control. In terms of suction power, these models are the same, and they are very similar in performance according to the tests I performed. I can also highlight the benefits of several cleaning cycles of both models and effective self-drying systems. I especially like the feature that only Dyad Pro has – a collection of water from the bare floor. So, I hope I have collected all the required information to choose between these models. As the price for these models is close, you can choose the model with more suitable features for you.
