Now, before we go to the main face to face comparison, here is a summary of the two models. There are also reasons why we like them.

Shark Navigator Lift-Away – NV352

Shark Navigator Lift-Away NV352
View on Amazon
This is the original Navigator, and there are several variants of it, including the Shark NV350, NV351, NV353, among others. The difference mostly hides in colors and attachment sets.

The vacuum perfectly suits both hard floors and carpets, thanks to its brushroll. A shutoff technology allows it to switch brushing modes while changing deep carpet cleaning to hard floor cleaning.

Also, a powerful 1200W two-speed motor significantly contributes to performance.

The brushhead is equipped with swivel steering for easy maneuvering around furniture. Besides, the whole vacuum is quite lightweight, so cleaning requires no effort.

A light body complemented by an Upholstery Tool and two lengths of Crevice Tool means you can transform your cleaner into a convenient handheld vacuum for spot cleaning on stairs, rugs, upholstery.

Finally, we’d like to note a fully HEPA grade filtration with the Shark Anti-Allergy Seal. That’s why Navigator Lift-Away NV352 suits pet owners, families with kids, and allergic people.

Why we like it

  • It comes with a Wide Pet Upholstery Tool and an extra 24’’ Crevice Tool.
  • It offers top-quality anti-allergen filtration.
  • It’s easy to use, control, and carry.
  • It gently and efficiently cleans both hard floors and carpets.

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe – NV360

Shark Navigator NV360
View on Amazon
There is not much difference between the Shark Navigator Deluxe vs Shark Navigator Lift-Away save for the accessories included, and of course, the finish.

The NV360 comes with a bit smaller dust cup. Also, apart from the vacuum, customers get an Upholstery tool and a 5.5” crevice tool.

Otherwise, it has the same specifications as the NV352, and also, they retail at almost the same price. We’re glad to see a swivel steering pet brushroll that automatically switches when coming from hard floors to carpets and also deals better with hair.

Also, the unit traditionally eliminates even pet allergens thanks to the Anti-Allergen complete seal technology and a HEPA filter.

Shark Navigator NV360 may become a decent purchase for pet owners (maybe even a better option than the NV352).

Why we like it

  • The NV360 tags along with a Power Brush for pet hair on carpets and the Under Appliance Wand for cleaning behind large appliances, and fittings.
  • It has the same price but a wider accessory kit compared to the NV352 model.
  • Lightweight design suits even senior users and kids.
  • HEPA filtration really impresses.

Shark NV352 vs NV360 Face to Face Comparison

1. Design and Aesthetics

The design of a vacuum doesn’t contribute to its cleaning performance, but then, it could determine where the cleaner will reach, and where it won’t. It’s also a great thing if you could tell the difference between these two vacuums for the colors.

The Shark NV352 and NV360 are all identical in terms of dimensions and weight. The two measure 15 x 11.4 x 45.5 inches and weigh 12.5lbs.
Design and Aesthetics
The only difference is the color as the NV352 is a lavender vacuum, while the NV360 is blue.

2. Accessories

One of the things that differentiate Shark vacuums is the accessories supplied. You need to make sure that the model topping your wish list has every tool and attachment you need, especially if you have pets. Let’s find out what tool these three vacuums tag along with. But before that, here is a rundown of the different Shark vacuum tools and attachments, and what they do.

  • Pet Hair Power Brush – This is an attachment for picking up loose pet hair, and dander on upholstery and other delicate surfaces.
  • Crevice Tool – This is an attachment that allows you to clean those narrow spots, corners, between furniture and crevices, among others.
  • Under Appliance Wand – As the name suggests, this is a tool with 180 degrees flexibility that enables homeowners to access those tight spots, and hard-to-reach places, including around large appliances like the refrigerator, and cookers.
  • Wide Pet Upholstery Tool – This works almost in the same way as the Pet Hair Power Brush, but this one is for picking up pet hair and messes scattered across a wide area.
  • Dust Away Hard Floor Attachment – This is a revolutionary cleaning head that has been designed to pick up large dirt and is still delicate on fragile floors
  • Upholstery Tool – This tool comes in handy when picking up large dirt particles and pet hair and lint from furniture and other surfaces with upholstery.
  • Dusting Brush – This is a small attachment that comes in handy when cleaning those delicate surfaces, shelves, baseboards, blinds, fans, and so on.

The Shark Navigator NV360 tags along with

  • a Pet Hair Power Brush,
  • Under Appliance Wand,
  • 5.5’’ Crevice Tool,
  • Upholstery Tool,
  • Dusting Brush.

3. Cleaning Performance

This is the most important consideration when choosing a vacuum cleaner. Here, we want to find out which is the best Shark Navigator in terms of cleaning performance. We will be looking at some of the critical aspects that get the job done. These include the orientation, suction power, brush system, filtration, and so on. In addition, we will be sharing our exclusive cleaning test results, as is the norm.

Cleaning Orientation

Cleaning Orientation
These days, vacuum cleaners are highly specialized, so before you add it to cart, it will be essential for you to consider the cleaning orientation. The two Shark Navigator vacuums offer pretty much the same cleaning performance.

But you will realize that the NV352 and NV360 are recommended for all hard floors as well as for most carpets.

Vacuum Power

Also known as suction power, this is a fundamental consideration when buying any vacuum, whether Roombas, or the likes of Dyson V Series. There is not much difference when it comes to the performance of the above upright vacuums.

They all feature a powerful and efficient 1200W motor that delivers exceptional suction power.

Two-speed settings are available depending on the task at hand.

  • For general vacuuming, the low power setting is just right, and the advantage of this mode is that, the operation noise drops drastically.
  • For deep carpet cleaning, you will have to set it in high power mode.
Important

While the operation noise is higher, you get detailed cleaning. Besides the motor, we must also acknowledge the Shark Cyclonic Technology, which ensures there’s no suction loss at all.

Cleaning Head

Cleaning Head
While the motor is an important component of a vacuum, it can’t do without the cleaning head. This is where we have the component that does all the dirty work. It’s also an area where these two vacuums greatly differ.

Let’s find out how the Shark NV352 vs NV360 battle shapes up.

Under the hood, the Shark NV352 has an 11.4-inch cleaning head, and inside it, a motorized brushroll. You can turn the brushroll on or off, depending on your cleaning needs. This is the same case for the Navigator NV360.

Filtration

This is an important feature in all vacuums. If you have pets, you understand how messy it gets, not only on the floors, and upholstery, the atmosphere is also dirty. But thanks to technologies like HEPA filtration, you can now live comfortably amid the urine odor, pollen, dander, and other allergens.
Filtration
The industry standard has always been HEPA Filtration, nothing but true HEPA filters are used. The advantage of HEPA filters over HEPA-style filters is the fact that the former filters down to 0.3 microns, while the latter does an average of 10 microns, so the smaller particles sneak through. Both Shark Navigator Lift-Away vacuums come with HEPA filtration. In addition, allergy sufferers will benefit from the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology, which ensures that no trapped dirt sneaks out of the dust cup.

Dust Cup

Dust Cup
While the HEPA Filtration and Seal Technology are standard across our bagless Shark Navigators, there is a difference when it comes to the dust cups.

  • The Shark NV352 comes with 1.5 dry quarts while the NV360 has a 1.2 quarts dust cup. Please note, for the two, the entire dust cup is almost 3.0 quarts, but then, follow the manufacturer’s instructions – empty it at the respective capacity marks.

Cleaning Tests

AAs usual, we put our vacuums to the tests in a normal household. In this section, we are going to reveal our exclusive cleaning test results, where we’ll be ranking the three on a scale of 100.

Attention

We tested the Shark Navigators in a two bedroomed apartment with area rugs, a high pile carpet, and tile. We used common household dirt, including long dog hair, kitty litter, sugar, rice, sand pebbles, Cheerios, and flour. Below are our results in the different power modes, and surfaces.

4. Usability

Usability
While cleaning performance is an integral aspect of vacuums, usability is critical as well, especially when dealing with upright vacuums. Here again, there are several aspects to look at independently, from the handling, ergonomics, maneuverability, controls, and so on. Without further ado, here is a rundown of how the Shark Navigators compare as far as usability is concerned.

When it comes to handling and ergonomics, the three vacuums are quite exceptional.

  • They feature lightweight designs courtesy of the ABS and PP plastic material, with just a few metal add-ons.
  • Also worth noting is the Swivel Technology, which makes steering effortless.
  • The handles are comfortable and very ergonomic, so you won’t get tired when pushing the unit, or cleaning high above places in the Lift-Away mode.
  • The cable length is also standard for all the models – 25ft. But unfortunately, no model comes with automatic cord rewind. You will have to wind it manually for safe storage.

Shark Lift-Away

Lift-Away
Also worth mentioning is the Lift-Away Technology. From the names, you can tell that all the Shark Navigators have the feature meaning homeowners can benefit from this 2-in-1 cleaner.

While it is primarily an upright vacuum cleaner, you can transform it into a canister to reach the above high places, talk of the ceiling, and the stairs. And transforming it, either way, isn’t a complex affair. Just press the button on the control panel and that’s it. Talking of controls, the panel is located on the main unit and not the handle.

TIn fact, there is no distinction between the competitors, even regarding their weight. The Shark NV352 and NV360 are identical with 12lbs when in the upright vacuum mode and just 7.5lbs when in the Lift-Away mode.

5. Maintenance

Many people have been asking us, are Shark vacuums durable? Well, this is a trusted brand renowned for high-quality products.

Attention

But remember, durability is not just about the manufacturer; maintenance is also critical. A properly maintained appliance will last longer, and this is the case with Shark. And it’s not just about durability, efficiency and performance are also enhanced.

Have you ever tried using a vacuum with clogged filters, and worn out brushroll? It’s such a nasty experience. In this section, we will look at the maintenance requirements of the Shark upright vacuums.

Both vacuums have the same maintenance requirements.
Shark NV360 and NV352 will require periodic replacement of the brushroll, and filters. On average, you will require a brushroll after a year, while for the filters, you need a replacement in 4 months.

All this is, however, subject to how often you use the vacuum, and most importantly, the kind of dirt you deal with. If you are ever scrubbing stains and grimes on hard floors, expect the brushroll’s life expectancy to be short.
Maintenance
Now, one thing to highlight here is regarding the replacement parts and accessories. Make sure to buy the correct replacement parts, and above all, authentic products. There are lots of fake vacuum filters out there that paint the real picture of cheap is expensive. Some barely last for a week before they start showing those weary signs.

Now, the above is just regarding long-term maintenance. Daily, you will need to empty the dust cup to avoid the accumulation of bad stench, especially if pet hair is among the everyday dirt you have to fight.

But this shouldn’t be so much of a concern as the unit boasts the Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology, which ensures all dirt, including the allergy triggers like pollen, dander, and pollen.

6. Warranty, and Aftersales

One last important consideration when choosing vacuums is the aftersales service, and warranty.

You want a brand that has accessible customer support, availability of replacement parts and accessories, and tons of resources on how to use the vacuum. This includes Shark Navigator troubleshooting guides and FAQs.

We are glad Shark has lots of resources regarding the usage of their vacuums. When it comes to the availability of parts, the NV352 and NV360 replacement parts are available at fair prices. Whether you want filters, brushroll, attachments, or components, you will find them in plenty, on the manufacturer’s website and other retailers like Amazon.

When it comes to the warranty, Shark promises a five years warranty, which is quite generous. But then, there are lots of complications with this agreement. Several online customer reviews have revealed that the American brand is not so honest, and becomes dodgy even in the most honest returns. Cross your fingers that the unit you purchase doesn’t have any problems.
