This model is round-shaped, just like the rest of the iRobot models, save for the S9, which is D Shaped. Regarding the dimensions, iRobot 675 stretches to 13-inches in diameter and stands at 3.7-inches.

Also worth mentioning is the auto-head adjust system, which ensures proper contact, whether on bare floors or carpets.

Deebot 500


This ECOVACS vacuum is not different either, at least in terms of the shape. With an adjustable cleaning head, it is round-shaped, has a 12.9-inch diameter, and stands at just 3-inches meaning it will go under low profile furniture which the Roomba and Bissell can’t go under.

When it comes to aesthetics, there are several variants, including the 500 (black), 501 (white), and 502 (grey).

With Bissell, you get a larger footprint, but a low profile design as the robot stretches just 13.8-inches in diameter and is 3.5-inches thin.

The Bissell EV675 2503 model is black and has a disco teal accent cutting across the top interface. This vacuum also has a self-adjusting cleaning head that adapts to the floor’s surface.

2. Cleaning Performance

You want a robot vacuum with the best cleaning performance, and here, there are several aspects to consider, including the cleaning orientation, suction power, filtration, and brush system.

The 675 is similar to the predecessor, the Roomba 690. It tags along with a 1st Gen single speed motor that averages 550pa – 600pa.

As for the brush and filtration system, this Roomba is based on AeroVac technology. There is a dual multisurface brush system, but the problem is tangling when cleaning long dog hairs.

The filters are not true-HEPA, but we are glad the 0.3L bin has a full bin indicator. Other extras include four cleaning modes, and Dirt Detect series I.

Deebot 500


This vacuum still relies on a 3-stage cleaning system. For suction power, it boasts a powerful motor that delivers 800pa in low-speed and an impressive 1000pa in Max mode, which is designed for carpets.

As for the brush system, we have two side sweeping brushes and a primary brushroll with a spiral design. When it comes to filtration, ECOVACS built this robot with HEPA style filters and a large 0.52L bin.

Bissell EV675


Last is the Bissell 2503, which borrows from its two counterparts. The Bissell Triple Action Cleaning System is the same as Roomba’s and ECOVACS’ 3-stage cleaning system.

First, we have a powerful motor that delivers an average of 800pa. It works together with the dual side sweeping brushes, the primary brushroll, and a 0.4L bin alongside HEPA-style filters.

3. Cleaning Tests

As usual, we conducted several tests to find out which is the best model in a real household setting and not just on paper. We tested the three vacuums using cereals, sand pebbles, kitty litter, pet hair, rice, sugar, and flour. 4. Autonomy

The autonomy of robot vacuums includes battery technology, capacity, runtime, and power management. Make sure to buy a vacuum with the longest runtime if you want it to cover a larger area. The 675 relies on a lithium-ion rechargeable battery rated 1800mAh. It can power the iRobot 675 for 60 minutes when on bare floors, and 55 minutes on carpets.

This is not very impressive, considering we have models that do a cool 200 minutes. Worse enough, the 675 will not resume cleaning automatically, but it will dock for recharge by itself.

Deebot 500


Next up is the Deebot , which packs a rechargeable 3000mAh battery. At least this one can do 110 minutes, when working in standard mode, and slightly shorter, 90 minutes when Max mode is activated.

With such a cheap robot vacuum, don’t expect superior features like auto-resume, but the ECOVACS 500 will dock for recharging automatically.

With Bissell, the company has not revealed the exact rating of its battery in mAh. However, we understand that this is a lithium-ion battery that can run for 100 minutes. It will recharge automatically but won’t resume cleaning unless it’s prompted.

5. Navigation, Mapping and Boundary Marking

The iRobot 675 is a fairly new model, but it still uses an old navigation system. This is iAdapt 1.0, which uses a SLAM algorithm alongside obstacle sensors, as well as anti-drop sensors. It does fairly well in small apartments with average traffic.

But at least it comes with physical boundary mapping strips, so even though they are bulky, you have the means to restrict the vacuum if you have places you deem as dangerous, for example, the dog feeding area.

As for Bissell, the Michigan based manufacturer still used a SLAM-based algorithm together with anti-drop sensors and well as cliff sensors.

It got stuck a few times in medium-sized apartments and also hit some obstacles occasionally.

We also noticed that it disregarded the dark spots on carpets. Regarding floor mapping, the EV675 uses a random pattern, and that’s why it’s prone to missing some spots.
