DAIR = Dual Arm Industrial Robot

Category: Misc
Progress: In Progress
Cost: 200
Time to Build: 1 week

Hi,

The idea of the "kit" is that home hobbyists (Roboteers) will download the part files and print their own robot parts ... add hobby Servos and µController and have their own DAIR "Dual Arm Industrial Robot" or SAIR "Single Arm Industrial Robot" that can be mountedon a mobile platform or stand static.  I've got most of the design completed for "standard" hobby servos and am thinking of tweaking the designs for specific servos upon request.  I still don't have a 3D plastic printer ... my first choice today is the PP3DP but I'm thinking of designing something better based on MakerBot parts but larger than the cupcake size ... that's just too small for real world home hobby applications.

See it on Instructables too ...

Next comes the BallBot1 project ... with the 3D printer I will be able to print the plastic parts to convert my CanBot1 into a BallBot1p and maybe even start selling them.  These preproduction versions will sell about $150 each.

Help get the much more affordable BallBot1 robot into retail production!  Then costs should be much lower;
