1-BDI was a contestant in the 2001 Trinity Fire-Fighting Home Robot Contest.
He is a typical two-wheel drive robot. He has an experimental vision system that uses the Spectronix RamCam. (Unfortunately, this camera is no longer available.) The vision system has a few bugs, but in a room with uniform lighting, he can easily spot a candle from several feet away and roll up to it.
