Exemplar
Microprocessor: Freescale HC11. Locomotion: Two modified servo and a rear ball-castor. Exemplar's chassis is made from precise laser cut black acrylic. The pieces of acrylic lock together to form a rigid structure. Inside is housed the servo motors, electronics, microcontroller, front bumper sensors, battery pack and connectors. The front plate in the pictures is the front bumper. It works very well, almost any contact to the bumper is sensed by the robot. The LEDs on top are connected to the microcontroller and provides information about the robot's status. Each of the 12 connectors on top provide power and on digital or analog I/O to the HC11. Additional sensors and effectors can be connected to the robot with these connectors. Please go to www.botronix.com\gallery.htm for pictures and video of another robot: Elementum. I also have a blog that documents the development of a new robot.
