About RobotBox

The first concept for RobotBox started in early 2000. We invisioned a site that would showcase robot creations to inspire other builders and to give people an outlet for their creative juices. Back then the internet was a different place, the concepts of tagging, buddy lists, and full motion video were strange concepts. RobotBox initially started off as a site called The Robot Directory, which lunched in 2004.

The Robot Directory was a good start, but lacked some needed components to be a great site, and didn't make the leap to the "Web 2.0" generation. After languishing for a while the site was finally rebooted and transformed into what you're seeing now - the lean and mean RobotBox! We started development in Dec. of 2008 and started showing things off to the public in July of 2009 - nearly 10 years after the initial idea for the site!
