2010 Autonomous Surface Vehicle Competition Winners - Robot Boats

The winners of the 2010 AUVSI Autonomous Surface Vehicle Competition have been announced. 

Prize Money Awards:
1st Place – University of Michigan:  $8,000
2nd Place – University of Central Florida:  $5,000
3rd Place – University of Rhode Island:  $1,000
4th Place – Virginia Tech:  $1,000
5th Place – U.S. Naval Academy: $1,000

There were also several "special awards" given:

Special Awards:

• Thermal Management and Professional Communication – Embry Riddle Aeronautical University: $1,500
• Keel-Up Award for Ingenuity and Quality of Component Design – National Cheng Kung University: $1,000
• Sportsmanship and Cooperation – UCF and USNA:  $500 each
• Plug-and-Play Award – Florida Atlantic University:  $500
